London (CNN) UK border agents found 68 people, including 15 children, locked in containers aboard four trucks that had arrived from the Netherlands at a port in Essex, UK authorities said Friday.
The discovery was made when the trucks were searched at Harwich International Port, northeast of London, late Thursday evening, a UK Home Office spokesman said.
All 68 are now in the hands of the UK Border Force, which is part of the Home Office. Seven were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening abdominal and chest pains.
Those found are 35 Afghans, 22 Chinese, 10 Vietnamese and one Russian.
Four Polish nationals who were driving the trucks "have been arrested on suspicion of facilitating illegal immigration" and are now being questioned by the Home Office's criminal investigations team, the spokesman said.
I posted the whole article, as it's very short.

Incase any fellow Brits here have also felt the sudden heatwave, that's The Sun, furiously typing this into a headline.
Pretty common way to smuggle people. Lot of people end up dying from heat exhaustion for obvious reasons.
Those poor people.
Imagine ending up in Essex.
"and one Russia"
Seems that nationality is a little out of place.

Chances are those pains are because of them being trapped in a poorly ventilated container for who knows how long (definitely longer than anyone should be).
Like OvB said, this is a pretty common tactic, my grandfather escaped Yugoslavia on a freighter to Italy like this.

You're probably right. I was just meaning how this'll turn into another of those "Spending NHS money on illegals!" shitstorm. :v:
Being from Harwich myself and knowing someone personally that works in the Border Force, I can tell you that they weren't so thrilled with the find due to the amount of administrative stuff as well as the pain in the arse that detaining the migrants is.

They have some pretty cool gear, though. Heat scanners and also carbon dioxide probes as well that pick up on signs of respiration in the containers.
