God that art looks so good.
Hell, all of it looks amazing. Nintendo really knocked it out of the park.
they took it down, anyone have a re-up?

Seems it was mostly to organize the videos better so that it showed post-presentation alongside other post-pres videos.
Still waiting for Kirby.
Mario Kart 8 was already excellent, and this looks like a great improvement. Bigger roster, new items, more stages.
Since MK8 is the top-selling Wii U game it makes sense to get this out the door quickly.
Still sore that there were no Versus arenas in the Wii U release.
I hope I can port my Mario Kart 8 data over, me and my brother just 100% that game
If they charge full price for those of us who own it on Wii U I won't get it. The lack of proper Versus on the Wii U was bullshit. Only thing missing from an otherwise great game.

Unless you had Mario Kart 8 digitally and the ID can carry over to the Switch (don't see why it couldn't), there's no way for them to physically check if you legitimately owned 8 for the Wii U. And to narrow a price drop down to digital-only consumers would be unfair to consumers like myself who bought it physically.
It's pretty much impossible to hope for a sales drop in that regard.
now i regret all the dlc i bought for the Wiiu version
lesson learned

why not have a thingy where you stick your disc in the wii u and it validates a digital copy of the game for that single disc

Definitive editions have been a thing for awhile. It's almost always a given that popular games get rereleased bundled with their DLC.
At least Deluxe is taking an extra step and actually adding new shit.
Yeah for sure. Still, I think I'll be waiting for this to drop in price a fair bit before I can justify rebuying it myself

Hey fair enough. I know it irritates me to no end when I get ripped off. Probably a good thing I didn't invest in the DLC.
That and it's been sometime since I played MK8.
Now all you have to do is the buy the new console, some extra controllers (if you want to play with more than 2 people total) and rebuy the game that is the same thing but with a few more DLC characters.

Honestly I think it was a fine deal - sixteen tracks, six racers, and eight cars for $12 is more than a reasonable ask, especially considering that it came out over two years before MK8D's release.
Yeah, if you feel bad about the DLC purchase, you're pretty much in the wrong. It cost next to nothing for a disgusting amount of content.
Both it and Hyrule Warriors gave out so much content for the price
Game looks like an absolute blast. If there's one thing they do right, it's MC. Hope Luigi isn't as smiley as everyone else in that video...the death stares are ESSENTIAL to the game.

The two ones were 8 or 9 bucks apiece but you could buy both for $12.

Yeah MK8 was great value, smash bros was extortion
I feel like if they were to offer a price drop for people who already own it, they shouldn't offer it to people who bought it digitally on Wii U, but to people who bought the DLC packs on Wii U prior to April 28th, 2017 (the release date of the Deluxe edition, according to Nintendo's site).
That seems like a more fair deal for everyone, since most people who have bought the game and would buy the game again likely own the DLC already.

To be fair, balancing a fighting game roster with ~55 characters is far more work than adding new character/kart models, tweaking some values, and designing a handful of new levels.
