Mrs May got 165 of the 329 votes cast by Tory MPs. Andrea Leadsom came second with 66 votes. Michael Gove got 48. Liam Fox, who came last with 16 votes, has been eliminated. Stephen Crabb, who got 34 votes, has decided to drop out. Further voting will narrow the field to two. The eventual outcome, decided by party members, is due on 9 September. Mrs May - who went in to the contest as the frontrunner - and Mr Crabb, the work and pensions secretary, both campaigned for the UK to stay in the EU. Mrs Leadsom, an energy minister, Mr Gove, the justice secretary, and Mr Fox, a former defence secretary, campaigned for Brexit.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-36718196 Here's to May winning, the best of a bad bunch.
The comments from Ken Clarke were quite funny and pretty much reflected about how I felt about the whole thing http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jul/05/ken-clarke-caught-camera-ridiculing-tory-leadership-candidates-theresa-may-michael-gove

Gove seems to have completely fucked his career, he could have gotten any job he wanted under Boris and now I'm not sure he will even be on the frontbench come September
So it's pretty confirmed that May will become PM
I hope this is the democracy brexiters voted for
The UK gets May and the US gets Hillary. Incredible duo.
I guess Gove will at least go down as the hero who saved us from Boris
I hope this is the democracy brexiters voted for
at least we TOOK BACK CONTROL from the UNDEMOCRATIC european union!
at least we TOOK BACK CONTROL from the UNDEMOCRATIC european union!
I'm confused about how everyone thinks we are in a Presidential system because apparently they have no clue.

Could someone fill in an American on why everyone hates Theresa May? I haven't looked into her myself but so far it seems unbridled
Snooper's charter, personal war on drugs, messing with study results to better fit her narrative.
Not to mention she hates immigrants with a passion.
she also looks like that really crazy aunt that everyone seems to have
Still not as awful as Leadsom, who's a proper nutcase
Still not as awful as Leadsom, who's a proper nutcase
which makes it scary that she's going to be the second option
Leadsom's supposedly high-flying business background is getting shit on, and she's had to publish her CV in an attempt to defend herself http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-36722585
to someone who doesn't know much about english politicians, is this a good thing
to someone who doesn't know much about english politicians, is this a good thing
No, she wants to be able to see / record everyone's Internet activity, enforce credit card age checks on porn sites, ban immigrants (effectively, she requires over 60k in savings to be allowed in), misinterprets/ignores studies particularly on drugs to fit her personal agenda (war on drugs), wants to be able to revoke British citizenship without trial. Thats the next prime minister folks...
