Mom Catches 2-Year-Old’s Eye Cancer by Snapping Photo
Julie Fitzgerald had been worried about strange spots on her 2-year-old's eye, but she initially brushed them off.
But then she saw viral story on Facebook about how a white glow that appeared someone's eye in photos could signal cancer. So she decided to snap a photo of Avery.
And there it was, the white glow.
"I just had this gut feeling in my stomach that something was wrong with his eye," Fitzgerald told ABC News.
Fuck off cancer.
I would've never guessed someone so young could have cancer. Terrifying thought if you ask me...
I fucking hate cancer, kudos to the mom that trusted her gut though.
Is there any part of the human body where cancer can't spread?
Poor kid still had his eye removed

It's not common I would imagine but yes it really is terrifying at a young age. He's incredibly lucky his mother spotted it in time.
Dying is scary.

Hey, at least he can get a badass pirate-y eye patch. He'd be the coolest kid in the playground.

There are parts that are rare enough to almost be considered it, but as far as I know no, it can happen in any part of your body due to how it works.

But cancer isn't even a parasite, not even a virus, it's just our bodies occasionally malfunctioning at cellular level. How can you personify something like that?

Maybe nerve cells, I'm not sure if they replicate DNA. I'm probably wrong though.

Alternatively,
"So for my Show and Tell project I brought in my left eye, it had cancer so we put it in a jar"
"Oooooooooooooo"
(this is not serious)
75% of her eye was cancer and it was only found out by chance? Silent killer indeed.

Except he won't have depth perception, so he can't play catch :(

Basically anything made of keratin, but then again every human loses that stuff within a few months so there's no way to tell

Stop it, cancer is a necessary part of the ecosystem. You may find them annoying, but they're a vital step in the food chain just like everything else. If we didn't have cancer, too many bugs would survive, and larger animals like birds would be more likely to starve.

It's only a "neccessary" part of the ecosystem because it exists, if it didn't exist then the ecosystem would just be different. That's how evolution and nature works.

You're very fortunate not to be emotionally affected whenever cancer is discussed. I'd imagine you haven't lost anyone or been burdened by it before considering your impression that people merely find cancer "annoying."

With my foot up its ass.

You seem really nitpicky.

In my defense it's a bit difficult to tell whether or not something is too subtle for the internet.
Welcome to facepunch, here you'll find edgy kids defending Nazis, ISIS, pedophiles, and now cancer. Enjoy your stay!

That's like saying we shouldn't hate aids, malaria and war because the world is so overpopulated.

But dead 2 year olds are necessary for our ecosystem!!!
Same thing happened a few years ago I remember. Mother/Mother's friend took a photo of her kid and sent it to mother/mother's friend, she noticed the white colour and you can guess the rest.
Ok so... When the title said "Mom CATCHES 2-year-old's cancer"
I thought it was saying she GOT CANCER by taking a photo of her kid.
Like it was contagious and somehow spread by taking a photo. I was so confused.

"I caught the cancer today. I'll sleep it off"
