HARRY Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Part 1 conjured up box office magic at midnight screenings early on Friday with US$24 million in ticket sales, but it fell short of the US$30 million record held by The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
Second on the list of best midnight debuts is The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which opened in November 2009 with US$26.3 million at midnight.
Still, the midnight debut for Deathly Hallows is the best for a 'Potter' movie, surpassing 2009's Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, which sold US$22.2 million worth of tickets in the United States and Canada in its midnight screenings.
Paul Dergarabedian of Hollywood.com Box-Office said the midnight box office foreshadows a strong first day in theatres and an opening weekend that could produce well over US$100 million at US and Canadian box offices.
Warner Bros, the studio behind the 'Potter' movies, has already said it expects debut weekend ticket sales to top US$100 million. The biggest weekend opening for a 'Potter' movie belongs to Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire with US$102.7 million in 2005, according to Hollywood.com Box-Office.
Deathly Hallows is based on the final book in the hit series by author J.K. Rowling about the adventures of the British boy wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Now I gotta get my money removed of Demonic powers!
Fuck!
I like harry potter.
I loved DH Part 1.
A hell of a lot better than that yawn-fest Half Blood Prince...
For some dumb reason I read the title thinking the effects of his "spells" in the movie actually cost that much...
God fucking dammit. I wanted the faggy vampire scum to lose.
Best thing ever i heard when i went to see this film, some guy in the queue said " Omg i know im totally going to regret seeing this i bet twilight makes more than this it was such a deep film!"
I snarled then my dad turned around and said "Oh shut up and get out you faggot! noone want's you in the audience anyway" bear in mind my dad is 65 years old.

True story, I was on a 9-hour flight watching Half Blood Prince without sound (I didn't pay for the ear-plugs). Contemplating what the characters said was a lot more entertaining than the movie
fucking twilight
I loved it. I waited 3 hours in 15 degree F weather with 30 mph winds to watch it, but it was worth it.
The only problem was that I cringed at every single thing that differed from the book. I've read it so many times that I knew the lines they SHOULD have been saying every time.
There's still the total box office gross.
Along with the fact it was boring, the main reason I hated the half blood prince movie was how harry potter was played, the actor is gay irl and the way he played harry was completely wrong, not to sound like a homophobe

How is supporting gay rights makes him gay.He just wants people to be equal gay or straight

I was unaware Daniel was gay.
He isn't gay from what I know

It doesn't matter that much.
Gonna watch it just because of miss granger
I enjoyed this movie. :D

There is a kind of naked scene.
I went to my friend's gig last night and hardly anyone we knew turned up because they were watching harry fucking potter.
After the first couple, I really don't like the movies at all.
Darn. I was hoping it would top Twilight at least, but it seems Twilight would keep that record. Though I guess in the end, total earnings from the movie would surpass it. Just not the opening night record :/
Mind you I probably won't see the movie nor have the drive to do so, I just don't like Twilight having that.
I bet the next one will surpass twilight

I was told serveral times that he was gay. Now I feel dumb :saddowns:
...
Harry Potter series: A deep, meaningful story following the life of an orphan as he grows up and finds his place in a world of (not gay) magic, plagued by a dark seemingly omnipresent force and an inescapable realization, climaxed by a confrontation with one's own demons and the demons outside of your own mind. Started in 1997/1998. Spans 7 books, high school/college reading level. Has numerous morals. Expands on Magical lore with a deep and serious history and method.
Twilight: Stupid bitch falling in love with a sparkling faggot and a furry on demand. Drama drama drama. Started in 2005, spans 4 books, stupid girl reading level. No morals. Completely ruins Vampire and Werewolf lore.
How the hell did Twilight win?!
oh thank god
I read the title thinking that there was a spell effect in the movie (a single one) that cost $24m to produce

Personally, I think both books are shit. Read one potter book and found it insufferable.
Harry Potter rules Twilight sucks

Tyler Durden was never a child

He isn't gay, and you are clearly a homophobe which has been scientifically proven to stem from unconscious homosexuality and self hatred because you believe consciously it's wrong.
Aka you're secretly gay and you're making a big deal out of it to cover up.
Daniel Radcliffe is probably the best HP that could ever be cast. He supports gay rights and speaks out against gay teen suicide.
