GT-40s are hardly a million dollars. Maybe if you're trying to buy a rare race car one at auction or something. A stock one is anywhere from 200-500 grand.

MightyMax was unbanned, that was a fast month. You have no idea about the 'rednecks' background. There's people who had millions but are now living on the street. So much stuff can change - this guy still seems to have some money considering he owns and modified his own Lotus. Also I remember watching the video from /Drive when it came out. Fascinating how professional it looks, just take a look how neatly done the skirts by the wheels are done.

A Ford [I]GT[/I] is different from a [I]GT40[/I]. The GT40 of the 1960s was never (originally) sold to civilians, and they only produced 7 road-going versions, called the GT40 Mk III.
You'd be damn lucky to get a GT40 for less than a million dollars.
I'm pretty sure the guy in the video means the Ford GT. It's common for people to call it a GT40 for obvious reasons.

I remember reading somewhere the Lotus had Racing Slicks on it when the accident occurred, and the Lotus hit the Porsche, although I could be wrong

I personally think the Lotus driver is full of shit, various eyewitnesses say that it was his fault and that he was trying to fucking race a car on the freeway, it seems like people buy these cars with those intentions so I'd say it's probably pretty true.
