The Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath MP will announce his decision "within days", an ally told the Sunday Mirror. There has been no official confirmation but senior Labour figures have told the BBC they expect him to stand down. The 63-year-old, who recently played a leading role in the campaign against Scottish independence, has served nearly 32 years as a Labour MP.
Gordon Brown texture like sun...
And his most memorable quote as PM "Skunk is lethal"

You have done us all proud Flash Gordon.
"I've fucked up the economy, my job here is done"
Where are his promises now? predictable, they only wheeled him out for the referendum so he could fall on his sword.
Gordon Brown texture like sun...
im trying to think of a witty lyric from the song that i can spin into how he completely fucked the UK over
Was Brown really that bad? My understanding was that he was saddled with a shit situation, and got the blame because ????? I don't doubt that he could have been better, but every politician ever could have been better.

If I recall correctly, its been a while since I even thought anything about him and his uninspired period as PM

In that regard, he makes Cameron look like a diplomatic sledgehammer. (Then again, both of them are wet fish by Blair standards) I think he was just... uninspiring. He didn't change anything, and couldn't promise to do much about it. Then there was that 'He's unelected!!!' bullshit from people who think this is America. He probably would have been better if he came in at a better time.
"I've fucked up the economy, my job here is done"
Did he fuck it up or did Blair fuck it up and then jump ship before he could be held accountable.

Can someone explain why you Brits seem to hate every PM that comes into power and the Aussies are pretty similar.
Can someone explain why you Brits seem to hate every PM that comes into power and the Aussies are pretty similar.
I don't think the changes a PM is responsible for are particularly visible for the average person, so everyone assumes they're useless and don't do anything. Obviously the reality may be completely different but the economics in a country like the UK is an absolute minefield.
I totally forgot Gordon Brown was even PM, that's how forgettable he was.
Can someone explain why you Brits seem to hate every PM that comes into power and the Aussies are pretty similar.
I think it's more to do with the party they represent more than anything, as soon as people know they're a Tory it's all "oh my god posh cunt" Although with regards to austrlia any person with any Australian political know-how would hate Tony Abbot.
I totally forgot Gordon Brown was even PM, that's how forgettable he was.
Agreed, it's like his time was a small dark age between Blair and Cameron. I'm not the biggest fan of politicians anyway, they always seem to dance around a difficult question rather than just being straight about things. Nigel Farage seems to come quite close but his party members don't come across as being particularly nice.
Gordon Brown texture like sun...
Oh good, I'm not the only one who misheard the lyrics of that song. Also holy shit I'm not the only who's aware of that song.
Can someone explain why you Brits seem to hate every PM that comes into power and the Aussies are pretty similar.
And Americans hate every president too
Did he fuck it up or did Blair fuck it up and then jump ship before he could be held accountable.
Brown always wanted to be Prime Minister, and basically Blair let him take the role as soon as their was trouble on the horizon, so he could walk away smelling like roses. Brown did fuck up with somethings as Chancellor, such as deregulating the financial sector before the recession (although the Tories would have done exactly the same thing anyway, so that's somewhat of a moot point) and selling the UK's gold reserves off at way too low a price, but on the whole I don't think he did that badly, Blair just made him a massive scapegoat.
