So this is it, Facepunch.
Come to think of it, the pc have slowly ruined my life, day by day.
Should have taken the hint a couple of years ago when my free-time activities started to fade, and my school grades could be compared to shit.
Though what really hit me was my mom crying today.
Even though she have pissed me off sometimes, told me to get the fuck out of the house and do something that "doesn't involve that fucking machine", I knew she did it because she cares for me.
I have many friends. Though I can't "see myself" in anyone of them anymore.
I don't share interest with any of them, except a chap that smokes, does drugs and shit.
And I don't want to be with him.
So, in hopes of not derailing my life, I'll try to get away from the computer as much as possible.
Maybe get a job. Or something else.
start by selling your pc.
Oh well. Cancer ruined my life. But your reasons are okay, I guess. :smith:
okay, I really never did, but sheesh.
EDIT: I feel really guilty that I am getting hearts, now... Okay, my daddy never loved me though :smith: :smith:
EDIT: Okay, not really, I had a wonderful childhood. I'm a compulsive liar though :smith: :smith: :smith:
What is this ''life' you speak of ?
if you don't want your pc ill take it
Then get your ass of the computer and do something else. Problem solved, thank you! I will accept donations later.
go outside lol
^ This, then go outside. Start to exercise, try your best at school, try to cook and help at home. There is a lot you can do.
Darn ninjas
Trade in your pc for an ipad.
You can post here and still have a life
Nothing wrong with computers if you use them in moderation. I use my computer an awful lot and still got good grades back when I was in education.
Perhaps try and allocate "x time a day" into going out and riding a bike/walking/etc.

The life of a hipster is no life.
How can you ruin a life that was nonexistent in the first place?
No need for getting rid of your PC, just restrict yourself to a hour or 2 max a day. Then fill in your freetime with activities and/or work.
"And my first order of getting a life is to start a thread about it on FacePunch."
Good luck (:
If it's too hard, just limit your use.
I could've swore the thread title said "My pc have killed my wife"
would've been a much better thread

If he gets exposure to the complete oposite of a computer dweller he will then find a medium between the two
You are not alone, thats also called "No lifer.." .. My life was also fucked by a pc .. but i am trying to get out and do somethin
for example buy a bicycle and just drive it :)
Take out the hardrive for some other time, then kick the shit out of your computer and get a life.
[editline]06:28PM[/editline]
I mean, so you can use the hardrive when you have a life.
S'wat I did, sept I didn't kick the shit out of my computer the motherboard failed and I didn't get a new one for ages.
But it was worth it, right ?
But it was worth it, right ?
The price to pay for being on the Internet is the loss of human contact?
Fuck yes :buddy: it is worth it.
Except those moments when you feel ronery :smith:
But the Internet makes up for it :unsmith:
It's not even the computer. Don't put the blame on it, you're just avoiding the issue.
You're addicted.
It can happen with anything. Drugs, entertainment, books, hobbies. Instead of tossing your PC out the window and miserably trying to start something else, learn how to do more productive things and get out more with the aid of your computer. I use to think the same way, then I learned how easy it is to start up a multitude of hobbies via a computer, along with communicating with people.
So far, I've arranged for some old friends from Houston to come visit this summer. I've gotten a tablet and have been practicing drawing. Using GIMP, I've done basic skinning for source games. Audacity for audio editing. You can write short stories or view the news. Expand your window. Also, you can get a job online too.
tl;dr: Your fault. :v:
It is too late to go back, many of us have attempted to escape, many of us have failed.
It seems that it killed your grammar too.

This pretty much. I spend pretty much 90% of my freetime at the computer. Sure social life is not that big...but that's because I hate spending free time with people that have the interests I do, sitting at the computer that is.
I got average grades, average with friends, I work over the internet in several ways and can make a lot of money if I work hard enough.
All my exams are going pretty good right now. I help out at home. Lifes sweet.

Though, in all seriousness, get a girlfriend. My time on the PC was cut by around two thirds by getting a girlfriend.
A computer is an inanimate object. It is not responsible for your decisions in life.
Learn to use your computer skills for something productive. Learn to program for instance. Or 3d modeling, video editing, website stuff, I'm in college and I'm basically on the computer so much I almost want to get off.

Damn, that is something.
@OP
I spend a lot of time in front of my PC. At least 6-7 hours a day. Of course I do take any opportunity that helps me get away from my PC. For example, when my friends ask me to go around the town centre with them, or to chill out. Or if my grandfather asks me if I wish to go on a out of town roadtrip with him.
Just take every opportunity you can to get away from the PC.
If it gets to the point that you're becoming aggressive when your mother asks you to run an errand. Then that is a big sign that you're becoming dangerously attached to your PC.
Also speak with your mother and ask what upsets her most about you spending time on your PC. She could be worried that you're losing out on social life. Or even burning up the electricity bill.
Go masturbate in public to make new friends :q:
