MonkeyPaw Games, which specializes in releasing classic games on digital platforms like PSN and XBLA, intends to port Sony's classic Tomba! to PlayStation Network. In an interview with Joystiq, MonkeyPaw CEO John Greiner revealed that the company had purchased the rights to bring the game to the PSN Classics series from Sony and original developer Whoopee Camp.
Sony originally published the game on the original PlayStation, and Whoopee Camp (founded by Ghosts 'n Goblins creator Tokuro Fujiwara) developed the game.
Greiner said the company would also consider bringing the game's sequel, Tomba! 2, to PSN, but all parties would wait to see how well Tomba! sells before making that decision. Here's an anecdote for you: When I first started at Game Informer, myself and former editor Jay Fitzloff (who now works on Darksiders II at Vigil Games) had to do a last-minute Tomba! 2 strategy guide to fill the issue we were working on. We ended up working for 36 hour straight with no sleep. We drank a lot of Mountain Dew.

God I used to love this game.
Oh fuck. I loved Tomba.
Gonna play the shit out of this naked.
this news made me sit up
Tomba! (Tombi! in Europe) owned, I loved how real and yet totally freakish the game world felt
I have never heard of this game before today.
:v:
I remember playing this game a long long time ago.
Well I put a video on the first post so you dont have to find one.
Wow, I need to buy a PS3 now.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES, holy hell i love this.
I vaguely remember playing this as a kid on my PS1.
I hope they do the second game too, that one got pretty damn dark. These were fucking great.
This is nice, hopefully it's as good as the Klonoa remake for the wii.
I remember when i first got my ps1, it was like a week later i discovered a demo disk in the bottom of the box and the first game on that disk was toomba. My brother, sister, and i played that one level in the demo over and over and over. I loved this game so much.
I kind of hope they do Tomba 2 too, it was better than the first one, imo.
I doubt many people played Tomba 1 to begin with. Most people only know the game from the free demo disk.
I like the humor and fun graphics of this game. Now and when i was younger.
This was like one of the first games I ever played on the PS1? Such a great game
Oh my god I always played Tomba 2 at a friends place when I was a kid but he wouldn't let me borrow it
we aren't friends anymore
This shit better be available in Denmark.
... or I'll cry.
Will you FUCKING tell us if his hair is natural or just dyed now?
For god's sake.
So they're just porting it? Cool for all of the people that never played it back when it was on PS1, but I still have my original disk (and a working PS1) so i'll just play it on that.
Tomba is still one of my favorite games of all time.
Oh wow I had forgotten about this game, played the shit out of the demo.
Amazing! I love this game!
They need to make a sequel to twinsen's oddysey
Tomba 2 was probably my favourite game for the PS1, right up there with Spyro 2
Probably one of my favourite playstation games, god that was great.
They better do the fuckin' sequel.
I FUCKING LOVED THIS GAME. Oh my god I wish I had a Playstation. The Nostalgia would be running like a river.
Wasn't there a Super Nintendo game in this franchise?
I still have these 2 games I play through them every summer almost! They're worth some decent money on ebay too....
Tomba was the shit. I only ever had the demo though :(
I think I probably played through it like fifty times, probably more.
