I've had Alligator and it did not seem like similar to that at all.
Alligator tail is delicious
Alligator tail is delicious
It is. The sauce you serve with it is also key. We served it at my restaurant twice, and both times it was deep-fried with a spicy remoulade sauce. I'm not sure where he's getting the "sweet" taste from though. Maybe the sauce (that is a weird color for that by the way. Jalapeno' Jelly? wtf?)My experience with Gator tail is tender yes, but more greasy & chewy. Although it could very well depend on the brand and/or the Gator itself. If you ever come across it, it's worth a try.

And yeah jalapeno jelly is delicious.
I've had alligator once and it was good but it's definitely an acquired taste. It didn't taste bad at all but the consistency of the meat was really off-putting, mostly because I could sit there and keep chewing and chewing and chewing it not knowing when I could actually stop chewing. It tastes good as fuck though.
I live in Louisiana, what do you think? But seriously, with the correct sections of meat, it has the consistency/chewiness of chicken, but more of a fish texture/taste. The meat you're going to get at restaurants is going to be tougher because it comes from larger, older gators. Most fishermen are out to get the larger ones because they bring in more money. I, however, get meat from younger, more tender ones from a friend who hunts gators. It's much much better.

I thought Bass pro shop was a place that sold fishing and hunting equipment not a restaurant. I've never actually been inside one since I don't hunt or fish
Their fudge should be classified as a drug. It's way too addictive.

He calls the green colored sauce weird colored? Did he never have Guacamole?
Tried it once, with a butter sauce. it's nice.
