yea cos producers like deadmau5 totally push a single button to create his music
when you put it like that, it's similarly like saying playing a guitar is just pulling strings, playing a piano is just pushing notes, playing the drums is just hitting things rapidly

It's more or less the case with live performance.

The play button at concerts/shows doesn't just magically produce the music. They have to make it beforehand.
The play button at concerts/shows doesn't just magically produce the music. They have to make it beforehand.
There's still a difference between playing an instrument, and just pressing play, when it comes to a LIVE show. That's what this is about, not that they made the music the same ways.
The play button at concerts/shows doesn't just magically produce the music. They have to make it beforehand.
It's a concert dude. If you aren't mixing on stage; it isn't a show, it's a sham.
The play button at concerts/shows doesn't just magically produce the music. They have to make it beforehand.
So, what you're saying is you would pay for a ticket to watch someone hit a play button?
The play button at concerts/shows doesn't just magically produce the music. They have to make it beforehand.
Why even go to the concert if you can just listen to the album to hear the live version of the songs?
I like the song.
The song is nice.
can we talk about the song? :v:
I like the song.

The content and message of the song is being discussed, at least part of it.

We are though :v:
Haven't most if not all of daft punk's concerts been live?
Why even go to the concert if you can just listen to the album to hear the live version of the songs?
lmao are you serious
like is this for real
why are they even comparing music played with instruments to dance/club music anyway, as if there was something wrong with it?
[editline]31st May 2013[/editline]
not dissing the song, i like it, i just dont get what the problem is with producers playing their music live, how do you expect them to do it?
[editline]31st May 2013[/editline]
and djs play other people's music, what a suprise
how do you even derail into a shitfest this fast over something so trivial
it's a narrative and shows a mini story, the entire thing is:
• everybody these days is making similar music, it all feels like they just follow a routine that "works"
• we're still doing good playing things out old school amidst these giant popular names
Introduced me to a new artist.
This music is pretty good.
What the hell? Who would of thought I found an extremely convenient time to post this.

Honestly I thought in this day and age people would of accepted electronic music already, alot of it is hyped shit and alot of it is actually amazing. Sure, hate it, but at least hate it for the right reason.
I should add to the credit of 'button pushing'

but skill, effort and genre still isn't the point of the generic button pushing by electronic music idols in the music video. at all.
I fucking knew you guys would do this, I wouldn't get so worked up over a light hearted video.

Well i mean while i love goldfish, you have to admit they really over simplified electronic music.
cool a shit music video for a shit song with a hyper-pretentious "REMEMBER WHEN MUSIC WAS REAL? LIKE IF YOU REMEMBER ZEPPELIN" message that completely oversimplifies modern music production
if you think making electronic music is just pushing a button you're really really naive / stupid and if you're complaining about live music being "push play" you're also stupid.
a. if you think all electronic artists just "press play" because deadmau5 said so you're delusional or haven't seen any live music. lots of electronic artists do a live remix of the track or construct it live, some will even perform the track with a live band
b. if you're honestly upset by your favorite electronic artist having to push play at a live show, dont go? who cares? if you're having fun at the show, dancing around with friends and listening to your favorite music live with a bunch of people does it really make a difference whether or not someone on stage misses a beat or plays the wrong chord?
i agree with the sentiment that all people that listen to music are morons that don't know the difference between good music and bad so long as they can dance to it
[editline]31st May 2013[/editline]
didn't really like the song though a bit too repetitive, cool video i guess

What are you talking about? The character portrayed in the video is obviously deadca7. It even has pointy ears and whiskers!

not what im saying tho, i just mean i dont see why people aggressively complain about electronic producers "pressing play" as though it makes them a poor artist / disingenuous performer? its not like they have many options available (aside from a limited live reconstruction which lots of people already do), and as long as fans are going and having fun at the show i dont see why people like cl0ck and don are so adamant about "pressing play" being a bad thing.

And just as Goldfish overly simplified it, you're overly analyzing it.
it seems unfair to say an artist is pulling a scam on a crowd of people who knowingly and willingly go there and have a great time just because they're unable to emulate the plethora of instruments they programmed for their track all by their lonesome
