*Here's a better video of the scene with much better quality*
In the years of watching television i haven't seen anything like this in my life, just wow.
They really have the balls to do it with these Evil Dead productions.
what the fuck
this is amazing
why haven't i been watching this?
:what:
Well i'm prolly gonna go watch series 1 now.
Been watching this series since the first season, have to say its been a good watch if you like the old films I would say watch it
Did they fix season 2 by not making it formulaic AF?
I disliked season 1 because it went through the same motions.
A lot of the pacing issues have been fixed and they really pack a lot into 1 episode, it's more fast paced and tightly written then s1. What i'm trying to say here is, the first two episodes of s2 blow s1 out of the water in terms of effects, pacing, writing, acting, set's and atmosphere.
really like those practical effects
watched this with my family. that scene was incredibly awkward.

Weird. I watched it with my parents and I was the only one that felt awkward. My parents were laughing hysterically the whole time :v:

Welcome to Evil Dead
I guess it's just me, but that was awful. The cartoonish fart sounds really put me off, and made the whole scene feel like some kind of Sam Raimi-themed Adam Sandler production

Gotta agree, it just seems a bit juvenile. Kinda got over dick, fart, and poop jokes in high school. The practical effects are legit tho

My parents recommended the show to me and made me watch the first episode lol.
-snip- -I made a dumb post, probably-

I wasn't expecting much when i started binge watching season 1 yesterday. But i've gotta say, it's probably the most fresh thing to come out as a series in a while.
Locations change frequently and it's a steady narrative that keeps the whole thing centered instead of having short stories involving ash in the vain of X-files.
Theming wise it really is superb for what it is, it comes off as something that really understands what it's core audience wants from an Evil dead series.
Actually quite refreshing to see how they handle a lot of common horror tropes. They have Monsters with personalities instead of a silent spooks that just function as something to run away from.
Incredibly enjoyable to see how the character arcs slowly start confronting these monsters as well, denying them in pretty creative scenarios.
Recommend it fully if you're tired of series with a common structure.

While some things really look like props, I have to say it looks better than a fuckload of popular TV shows in terms of the practical effects.
The fact that he's saying "NOT UP THE BUTT!" instead of "ASS" makes this funnier to me.
I gotta get back into this show.
I was laughing so much in this scene holy shit. Who even thinks of this stuff?
I also see Evil Dead 2 ash in this scene.
I mean I know it's the same actor, but the acting makes me really nostalgic here.

it's not that farts and poop are funny, it's the fact that someone, somewhere, put the time in to make a practical effect for Bruce Campbell to get eaten by a zombie butthole, then run around wearing it like a hat
This is fucking amazing.
I love the designs of some of the demons as well. Eligos needs to make a comeback.
So what do I need to watch before starting the tv series? Just the Evil Dead movies?

Yup. 1, 2, and Army of Darkness. If nothing else, 2 is the most important to the shows plot, but they're all worth watching anyway

what i don't get is that 2 is meant to the the canon version of the cabin events right? then why do people keep referring to ash chopping up his 'friends' when it was just linda?

Not... really. From what I can gather, it is a bit of a mix. I like to think that everything in 1 is canon, then skip the recap retcons in 2 up to the point where Ash ends up outside just like how 1 ended, and then all of that is canon.
I just watched this episode an hour ago. Far out that part was disgusting
