The Pixel Show, a great under appreciated game review show - General

A good friend of mine on steam makes videos on Youtube named The Pixel Show. He reviews games, has let's plays and array of other things, he uploades videos every so often. He's not one of these kids who has a shitty mic and screams about how the CoD series "is the best ever". The episode? I actually just decided out of the blue to not have a script today - seems it worked out okay!

I'm awfully glad you feel that way, Cricket. I do put a fair amount of effort into the episodes, but as long as at least one person watches it and can honestly say they enjoyed it, and better yet found it funny, that's utterly brilliant :)

My relatively slow internet connection would make the downloading of high-res trailers a little difficult. As for the audio, I'll see what I can do about that, although lowering the volume of the music to allow it to remain consistent might help to offset that.

It's incredibly heartwarming to hear such a nice thing said about me. I'd like to think that unlike a lot of other YouTube personalities/gaming blogs, which are generally very pessimistic and snarky, TPS and MoaBG are what I'd like to call "relentlessly optimistic". If they criticise, it's for a good reason. It's great taht this strategy has worked :D

Just a quick report on how much this has helped me - in just the past day, TPS Episode 6 has gained 230 views, and an [I]unprecedented[/I] (for me) twelve lives and zero dislikes - which hopefully means I'm doing something right!

This has potential, keep going.

If you do get famous, remember, the average youtuber IQ is [I]blindly stupid[/I], and a fancy font would amuse them very easily, just like very simple effects and everything else could.

You mean redraw the characters better? I could do that, and I plan to make simple animatics with them too. They're kind of the mascots for the show (named after famous writers, natch).

Haha, indeed they are! Matt Smith was the inspiration for the fez's first appearance in Episode 3. It's just making a reappearance :D So aside from regulating the audio, is there anything else I should do before, as you say, Facepunch can "try and pitch it everywhere"?

I can't fucking believe it, one of your other episodes had 19 views.. [b]19 VIEWS[/b] Stupid 10 year olds shit videos get more views than this. This is fucking great, I don't know how someone can get that many low views for such good videos, hell mine are worse than yours and still have more views, you need mor people to watch your episodes man. Doesn't it get kind of lonely when you're dedicated to make a series, then looking at the view count and seeing hardly no one is looking at your videos, it'd make me quite sad really..

It's really quite touching that you say that, 343N - in a way, having a couple of likes from friends who viewed them, but no overall views, was kind of worse than everyone seeing it and rating them down. The fact that everyone on Facepunch seems to enjoy TPS is incredibly relieving. Seems I've found the audience TPS was always lacking! I'm always open to suggestions and questions to be answered on the show, or MoaBG (my blog) - I put up a new blog post every day.
