welcome to the Lego MegaThread! come in and chat about lego, whether you had it when you were young or you still use it today you can still enjoy these little plastic bricks “but isn't lego for kiddies?” I hear you say, nope! The Adult Fans Of Lego (AFOLs) see lego as more of an art form than a toy, anything can be built, so let your imagination run wild. so what is this MegaThread for? well, post images of your own creations, creations from around the net or discuss sets with fellow FPers ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- themes: a list of Themes Lego has to offer can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Lego_themes ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- useful sites: http://mocpages.com/ Upload and view models (MOCs) made by users from across the world (moc stands for My Own Creation) http://www.eurobricks.com/ Lego news and descussion in a range of topics www.brothers-brick.com is a popular AFOL blog that relates Lego news, some very good MOCs, as well as interesting Lego events (Creation for Charity, Lego conventions, and so on...) www.brickset.com news feed provides interesting informations about upcoming lego sets and games, but its most interesting feature is the ability to list your own Lego collection (Sets and minifigs) online and sort it by year of release, set number, price, number of pieces, etc... The site also includes a review system as well as many informations about the listed sets. www.peeron.com features information, instructions as well as complete pieces list for each and every set to date. www.bricklink.com is a website where you can buy or sell lego sets or pieces to individuals. Each person has his own store, which is monitored by a rating system. Products range from single pieces to huge collector sets, not to mention onerously priced several decades old MISB (Mint In Sealed Box) sets. http://www.brickfactory.info/ scans of all the instructions for every set ever! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- but what if you don't have lego, or have the money to buy some? well there's an answer for that! simply download this:http://ldd.lego.com/ this allows you to build using unlimited virtual bricks to get most of the bricks in the lego inventory, instead of the crappy one s you start with go to: View > New Themes > LDD Extended ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OP will be updated through the thread thanks to: _Axel
That's a good Megathread idea! The AFOL community is and has always been very active, so I bet there's a lot to talk about. -Added to OP-
OP updated

I wish they still produced the Dino Attack and Vikings. Those were my favorite. I had the jeep and tank thing from the dino one, and almost all of the viking ones. They discontinue all the good ones. I honestly don't like most of the current themes out there. Architecture's pretty slick though.

they don't make big sets like they used to, those sets would be about £70 each if they were released today
they don't make big sets like they used to, those sets would be about £70 each if they were released today
They make a lot of them. Lego City has tons of big ones. They have police stations, fire stations, those HUGE modular NYC style buildings...
My aunt worked for Lego when I was a kid, I used to get into legoland (Carlsbad) for free, and go to exclusive events, plus I'd get tons of lego sets for my birthday. My childhood was amazing I tell you.

Like a guide on how to make them. Also you're never to old for legos. The new Dino sets rock.
how much force can a typical 2x4 lego block withstand before warping / snapping
