Already well under construction adjacent to the existing Jurassic Park area, this new ride will take guests through Skull Island and feature life-sized, face-to-face encounters with King Kong himself.
Source Photos of the massive attraction under construction
wait wait wait, what about that awful lost continent area? what are they going to do with that?
I swear to god if this is all CG once you get past the facade...
so those rumors were true, eh? it'll be neat to see if they reference the old kong attraction somewhere in the new one.

Ah, I see how Universal is making better announcements than Disney. The difference is that Universal starts building stuff and then announces it. That's why they can say 'coming Summer 2016' and stroll past the crowd taking high-fives. The building's already partly there, makes the wait seem smaller. Compare it with Disney who announced Avatar Land in 2011, started building it in 2014 and it's slated to open in 2017. That makes the wait seem a whole lot larger and 'worse'.
Except with Disney they seem to take their time with creating new things unlike Universal who seem to just churn them out
Yea Universal is not as good as disney world. Disney has two things Universal doesn't, Isolation and Immersion. a good example of this is just looking at the entrance of Magic Kingdom and Islands of adventure http://cdn.wdwmagic.com/imgstore/ElementGalleryItems/events/Fullsize/Holidays-at-the-Magic-Kingdom_Full_17449.jpg When you enter Magic Kingdom, all you see are main street USA and The castle itself at the end of it. There's no extra clutter from the other parts of the park that don't fit the main street/castle style and the person can be isolated and immersed in it. Now look at the entrance to Islands of Adventure: https://www.universalorlando.com/Images/BB_horz_first_tcm13-10012.jpg At the entrance you can already see 3/4 parts of the park. Cat and the hat, Marvel (Yes marvel, Universal bought theme park rights before Disney bought marvel) , the beginning area, and jurassic park (the big building in the background). clutter from hell. see the difference?
In the announcement game, it's more about marketing than the actual attraction.

Sweet, it'll be open in 2016. Hope it will be open when I go :v:.
