Tried to go for a sort of photojournalism style for that one.

It might help if they weren't broken.
They aren't
Didn't think so.
Although there isn't much wrong with them, I will throw in some pointers:
- Keep your subject away from the center. Either left or right, unless it cannot be helped or it truly adds to the picture.
- Run your pictures through an editing program. Editing is a form of art itself. It carries over ones style.
- Black and white does not always make the picture, it will actually often ruin it. Keep that in mind.
- Clean your lens/sensor, it's filthy. :v:
- Get some more interesting angles on your subjects. Especially the portraits/ people pictures, were they can be very boring if you just stand there.
Will try to do all of that, heh, if I can. Thanks :)
Try not to take pictures of people taking pictures of people. There are many ways to do Black and white, you can use various combinations of channels, the default on the camera is usually the most uninteresting. Some of the shots look underexposed, try different metering modes.
I like the last day bargains if the shot was farther away, maybe alittle wider. The cigarette can is interesting, but the angle is boring in my opinion.
They're pretty boring
I like em; i think they're classy!
Eh, I don't really see anything special in the photos. When doing a shot of a person, you want to get right in front of them and take the shot. Taking it from the side like that isn't the greatest of ideas to do. Look up some composition tutorials and read up on them. You still have lots to improve.

Also the first photo would have been much better if you left everything out but that bird in the top right corner.
Really boring, they're also underexposed.
Cheers you guys are so optimistic.
I'm not a "professional" like these guys above, but I really like those pictures. Interesting subjects, and I like the last one especially. A vibrant background with a musky foreground.

Actually the last one completely ignores the rule of thirds and is very generic.

Follow The Golden's advice. :v:

I never understood why are people forced to follow rule of thirds. If it looks pretty, it's pretty. (Not saying op's are good)
I tried to stick to your advice and take a look at this.

Line up your verticals
Use lighting more effectively
Get a better emotive response out of your subjects
And stop taking pictures of photographers

that is some really fuckin rad lens flare, but it needs a bigger border and vignette.
