Last thread was closed so let's use this to discuss dubstep, related genres and events.

I've picked a few tunes out here as I think these show how broad dubstep can be, as there is a lot about and a lot on the radio that is very formulaic. To the point that it puts people off, thinking it's an all out madness competition and laser sounds. But it's a lot deeper than that, you just have to dig around.

Important elements of dubstep are bass and space. With it's roots in reggae sound system culture, musically a development of UK garage, grime and jungle with elements of dub.

Subdub always put on a great show. Kahn and Neek in room one on the mighty Iration Steppas Sound System. VIVEK, Dub Phizix, Distance and Jack Sparrow.

If you can ever get yourself down to a proper event do so, dubstep is sound system music. You need to hear it and feel it. Transporting you into a place where everyone is on one level, the bass almost seems life giving.Good vibes all round.

was strictly dub, almost certain only Youngsta and maybe a couple others had a copy. I don't think anyone expected it to get a release, just appeared for pre order.

My guess is that Kryptic Minds are dropping this tune to move on. I actually prefer the original
