Final Fantasy? Oh shit.
To be honest they're not the first people to do something like this. ArmA had DRM like this, but it rendered the game completely unplayable. It fucked with your accuracy, made the AI's accuracy and skills ungodly, it would also randomly turn in you in to a animal or something.
Lol. i don't have to worry about anything cause i get it free with my new nvidia gtx 275.
A fixed crack already fixed this. Late.

Indeed this man is right.
They are just wasting their own time! GTAIV had a similar "Creative DRM" where players were always drunk but it was only a matter of days before a crack fixed/cracked (depends on how you look at it) it. Instead of spending that much time coding that "DRM" they could have play tested the game more, polished it, etc.

I can't see the PC version being much different.
Wasn't this story already posted? I'm pretty confident it was because after hearing about this I retreated to a certain community to read about how full of RAAAAAAAGE a lot of people were. Made me laugh.
Arma still wins for turning you into a pigeon.
The console versions are already polished to hell and back. I can't see the PC version being much different.
That wasn't what i meant. All i'm saying is that, if somebody really wants to pirate the game, then they are going to do it anyways no matter how sophisticated the drm is because in a matter of days they'll find a way to crack it. So why not spend that time on something else?

If the DRM is able to delay cracked versions from coming out for at least a few days after release then the DRM did its job.
Good to see DRM's taking a new road.
Lol. i don't have to worry about anything cause i get it free with my new nvidia gtx 275.
Can you not read?
But... if the game is done and the ship date isn't yet here, why not take the 10 minutes to do this?
Still wastes time and money, time and money more than likely greater than the amount of time it wastes for a professional team of game crackers. AND WHERE THE FUCK IS MY EDIT BUTTON ARGLKFALFJASDA
It was fixed in a matter of days.
The console versions are already polished to hell and back. I can't see the PC version being much different.
consoles: limited to 720p (1280x720, where as now resolutions like 1920x1200 are becoming more and more common with PC gamers) no (real-time) AA 360 version doesn't have lighting as good as the PS3 or PC version PS3 version lacks the Ambient Occlusion that the PC and 360 version have both 360 and PS3 versions have tri-linear filtering, that or 2x anisotropic filtering, which looks pretty bad by today's PC standards both 360 and PS3 versions have more compressed and lower resolution textures than those of the PC neither 360 nor PS3 versions have the option of PhysX, which provides a shit load more fog, smoke, mist, breakable shit, and quite possibly dynamic fluid physics (they have the same simulated water that was in Gears of War, which turns into what looks like a spiky death trap every now and then). provided a proper system, the PC version can and will look infinitely better, in my opinion. [editline]05:04PM[/editline] oh and by "they have" when talking about the water - i mean they as in the 360 and PS3 versions, and i said that because it would only make sense that the PC version will have hardware water physics because of that.
Lol

I know the box says the highest res is 720p but it can be played in 1080p! I'm on a PS3 btw.

The actual quality of the image may appear to be better but it's not being output by the game at any higher than 1280x720.
i'm doing the same, it's still being rendered in 720p. What it does is it takes the 720p render and stretches it to 1920x1080p. It doesn't look any different from just having 720p turned on in the Display Settings of the PS3 itself, but text looks slightly cleaner.

If FF XIII does the chocobo thing, I want someone to make some program to add everyone in the world to their friends list. Then use magic, and watch the universe crumble to a horde of chocobos. Assuming "everyone you've ever loved" means everyone on your friends list.
It's already cracked.

Reminds me of arma 2
RELOADED also released their release of AA now [editline]03:27PM[/editline] a proper one at that
didn't titan quest suffer a backlash from a similar DRM. I remember something about the pre-release getting leaked and the crack trough out a giant hoard of bugs (intended to be with the crack) and the game got a caption of a bug-fest due to this.
you just can't stop piracy. fucking love razor <3 (User was banned for this post ("encouraging warez" - Greeman))
