i play at CQB city in Stockton CA, with my airsoft team. normally i dont mind playing with kids if they are mature. but it f***ing pisses me off when i see a kid running aroung with a tac-knife and his handgun. im a veteran of Operation New Dawn and i went to airsoft on my leave from iraq and seeing this wants me to rifle-punch his face. next time im going airsofting with 50 lbs of battle rattle and plates, and ill treat it like real life and zip-tie that mofo to a back of a humvee.

but airsoft is a game at its heart
and some people just want to have fun
I really don't see what the big deal is. The tac-knife is for melee kills.
If people act like idiots at proper milsim games, then you have a reason to be pissed. Otherwise, as said above, airsoft is a game, you're taking it too seriously.
From what I've seen, CQB city isn't exactly meant to be a milsim field. You are playing with the wrong crowd obviously.
I think he means that, since airsoft is traditionally a military-oriented game, it's offensive for him to see some kid basically murdering what it's about by dashing around with a pistol and knife in his good to go metallica shirt and converse.

That's just a really elitist outlook on it then, if it isn't advertised as a milsim only type of venue then people can and will wear what they want. Some people don't have the money for a nice loadout and just want to shoot their buddies every weekend and there's nothing wrong with that.

True.
I've seen people who just don't even try, though. People showing up in plaid...come on, they could just wear a plain shirt and pants and it'd all be good.
CQB City just filled with kids like that. It annoys me too, but I understand not all of them can afford good gear. But at the same time I can also ask why the hell they spent all their money on a MAC 11 instead of a a good AEG that would be more useful to start with.
Now I'll admit I've carried a knife and pistol before, but that's only because I saw someone close enough knife who didn't even know I was there. Other than those times I got my knife secured away.

Good on you for serving and all, but why the hell did you feel the need to mention it in your post?
Also, the great thing about airsoft is that you can [I]shoot[/I] people who do stupid shit. Unless its a roleplay game or something and somebody is doing something that totally kills the immersion, let people play how they want to play.
Please, listen to me, I made dumb posts and thread like this all the time before i lurked and found out what to post and what not to post. Not trying to sound mean here but the best thing to do as of right now is just stop arguing and let the thread die.

yeah, FP really is a place where you have to watch out who's toes you're stepping on, at least in your first couple of months. Once everyone gets to know you you don't have to worry as much.
