5-10mg
[editline]10:12PM[/editline]
normally 10

unless you're 80 years old
To trip on? 5mg is pretty low. 10mg you can feel it more. 20 would be pretty intense and above 25 would screw you up real badly. Ambien does effect people at different dosages in different ways, Meader took 25mg and was like a zombie, couldn't really communicate or do much, and didn't remember any of his experience. To get a better idea look at the trip reports on Erowid. 5mg was enough for some pretty interesting for me at least, and 10mg was really cool.

Doctor's dosage will be 5-10mg as stated above.
in my experience, 10mg had me tripping balls and I had a facebook chat with someone that I didn't remember at all the next day.
10mg is actually good enough to trip. A normal medical dose is 10mg too. You have to stay up for about an hour and a half to peak. It's good shit.
Record yourself talking about something then watch it back in the morning.

This.
Fucking THIS.
I do it every time I've taken ambien and holy shit man, it's amazing.
I always take 20mg, 10 is enough to trip you though for sure, from my experiences anything more then 20mg isn't gonna be that great, caps out at around 20.
Trip lasts about 2 and a half hours by the way, if you're wondering.
try not to close your eyes a lot too
What kind of a trip will Ambien give you? It seems expensive online, around $5 for 10mg
The experience is really hard to describe for me at least. I don't think anyone could understand what I mean when all of a sudden letters started to appear separate from other letters and each letter had a story and then all combined all of the letters made up a working village. I'm not at all meaning metaphorically either, I mean that is literally what I was perceiving. And at least for me, there was no possible scariness to it, like sometimes if you're hitting a rough patch when on something you'll say "just go with it", well for me I was just in a state of going with anything, no rough patches. I also have a tendency to say really random stuff that makes no sense, Meader wrote down a bunch of quotes and we recorded a video which happens to be pretty funny.

So one pill of this (Which is for sleep it says) will make you trip? The 10mg ones?
The amount depends on the person. 10mg didn't make me sleepy at all. They do make most people sleepy though. Like I said earlier, 5mg you should feel some effects, 10mg you'll probably feel them pretty decently (this gave me some strong effects), and 10-25 will give you strong effects. The issue with high dosages is that you'll get amnesia and you'll probably act like a zombie. Read some of the reports and see what they are taking in connection to their effects.
the first time I tried 10mg, my computer screen became this crazy terrain full of hills and valleys, and in the valleys was this glowy aurora borealis shit that I could stir around with my fingers. during this period I also apparently had a rather long facebook conversation with somebody that I absolutely do not remember.
The 2nd time I tried 10mg, I was browsing facepunch, and as I looked at a thread the posts separated by the blue lines make it look like this big building, like a parking structure of some sort, and I was some giant peering inside each floor to see the graffiti (posts) that people made in there. It was like I was actually looking inside and I could seriously see walls and a floor and shit with each post. Probably even posted some shit that I don't remember.
I really want to experiment some more with this stuff.
The drug is really interesting I must say that.
Im going to go to the doctor and request a prescript for it. I do have insomnia though so it might be best to actually use it for my sleeping problems.
I once heard someone say that using Ambien is more like drinking until you pass out than actually sleeping. It's good for adjusting your cycle back to a reasonable time but you probably shouldn't be using it every night.
Yeah, don't use it every night. It's a Z-Drug and works similarly to Benzos. Addiction is very possible.
What happened to the old ambien thread? Did it just get old and die?
hallucinated and then fell asleep.

perfectttt
Well I hope it works good for me.
Kinda weird how I wanted to use it for recreational use, and know I find that It could actually help reverse the damage I caused as a kid in HS messing with my psyche by staying up all night :v:

Z-drugs cannot fix problems. Just temporarily attenuate symptoms and abruptly make them worse upon discontinuation.
I'm tripping on 20mg of ambien right now and man your words are blocks
10mg was good enough for me, ended up taking 20mg in one night though. i can't remember fuck all that happened that night. good times.

Guess I'll just use it recreationaly then :)

I wouldn't make that generalization at all. Using them habitually is not suggested by the doctor, mine actually gave me a whole plan to using it.

How did it work for ya?
It didn't put me to sleep at all, didn't even make me tired. But I know for a fact that this stuff will knock most people out, so it would be worth a try.
I believe the schedule my doctor recommended was to plan a time to take it 15 minutes before you want to go to bed, take it that day and it should put you to sleep if it works, then the next day do the same thing. The day after that don't take it at all and see if you can fall asleep without it and if you can't to take one. Anyway, just keep taking less and less of a dose and keep checking if you can sleep at that time without the pill, and if you can to stop taking it. I think that's what he suggested, but do whatever your doctor tells you (they aren't going to say to take one every night). The idea behind it is to make your mind want to sleep at that certain time and to make it habitual to sleep at that time. So then once you're on track with your sleep pattern, if for some reason you can't fall asleep one night you can just take a left over Ambien and sleep easy.
Like a lot of drugs, it's kind of hit and miss, so it may not help you sleep. As you can see here the drug works great for some, terrible for others. What I find weird about some of the bad reviews is that some people were taking 20 or more miligrams. Also note that most of the bad reviews usually involve taking it for long periods of times.
So what I'm saying is to give it a try, it may not work, but if it does and you use it correctly you'll be glad you tried it out.

Thanks for the info and heads up. If I get this big break in my life (Job at Taco Bell; oh joy) then I'll have some money to try it out,
