Are there any OTC antidepressants out there? I've been looking around but can't find any.
Looking for the SAFE ones here...lol

St. Johns Wort has been used as an anti depressant, you can buy it at most pharmacies
Why do you need an OTC anti-depressant?
And trogdor is right, just smoke marijuana.
5-HTP is marketed as a mood stabilizer, that's all I can really think of.
I don't think that non-prescribed drugs are a good way to treat a depression you might have, see a shrink if that's what you need.
St John's Wort.
Although it didn't do much besides give me a headache.
personally I wouldn't trust prescribed antidepressants.

Absolutely not.
My friend is on an SSRI for anxiety, and he said it just made it worse.
I'm on an SNRI, and I can't tell that it really does anything.

But you would do other illicit drugs with limited clinical research? :v:

Different people, different anatomies. While some people may see absolutely no change other than side effects of the anti-depressant, some others will say it's a godsend.
As far as OTC Anti-depressants go, there is St John's wort, but that's about it. I'd recommend you go see a doctor for it though.
I talked to this crazy old lady who was playing morrowind on xbox when I met her said that prozac, seroquel, all the psychological drugs they put her on, just made her quicker to temper.

That's exactly what happened to me when I was on an anti-depressant.
I would recommend diphenhydramine. Its sold as a sleep aid and an antihistamine . Some say its the precursor to Prozac. Might be worth a try
diphenhydramine just makes you feel all braindead and sluggish. I guess it would make you stop thinking about your depression, because you wouldn't be thinking about much of anything.
I don't really see how it could be used as an anti-depressant...
I mean, it's hard to be depressed when you're asleep, but still...
Makes me feel happy when i take it. Well as happy as a zombie can be.

aka prozac
aka prozac
Lol, no. Benadryl is definitely not like prozac.
Take prozac all day and you can function if you don't have horrendous side effects.
Take Benadryl all day and the only thing you'll be doing is sleeping.
Different anti-depressants work on different people. They usually start with a trial of one(such as Prozac) then if you aren't getting the results you need they switch to a different one. It also takes up to 4 weeks before any difference takes place(the medicine needs to build up in your brain).
This is coming from someone who used to take a shitload of anti-depressants and anti-psychotics(off now though since the anti-depressant worked and I can function without it, and I'm done trying to get rid of the voices in my head).
I'm on an SSRI and so far I've had weird cravings for healthy food, which I have been eating :D
I can vouch for this. I ate salad everyday for three months.
