tell me what you think :]
now with v2! :
:O
Pretty good, the color and (What I think is mud splats) are great, considering it's only on shade. This is one of the only times Times New Roman is good, because it's simple. My only suggestion is maybe level out the shoes a little or the lighting, and the heel of the shoe further back needs a longer shadow. All that needs to happen is the shoes need to be leveled out with the background, so it doesn't look like they are floating.
The feathering looks really bad and the lighting looks flat.
Also the shoes need more contrast.
I honestly hate it. It looks terribly rushed, and the text looks sort of out of place. Those blurred effects on the edges looks really strange as well.
An improvement from your other images the other day.
Though I don't think the text stands out enough.
As you guys are giving me constructive criticism I am changing it accordingly and am planning to post v2 in a minute.

Don't forget to add this
Well I would have added the new version ages ago but this 9kbps internet speed that I've been surfin' on seems to be giving me shit for the past 4 or 5 days :/
I don't see the point in it. It's just some photoshop effects. It's not communicating with me to buy Nike shoes, it's just a collection of random stuff.
Yeah, but does it randomly look good? :P
Also added v2

I don't think randomly belongs in that sentence. And the picture just looks like you slapped some filters on it and put text. You need to improve more.

I did a fair bit more, not trying to sound defensive it just rubs me the wrong way when people belittle something I made into sounding like it took 5 minutes :/. You can have the PSD if you want. Also I need to improve A LOT more that's for sure :P
All you did to the second was make the vignette bigger and add a blue overlay. :colbert:
I think that's a spotlight filter, not vignetting.

2 o' clock spotlight, then parallel direction at 85% opacity (selected blue as the color obviously :P) and then image > adjustments> variations > darker to get the shade of blue I wanted
feels less like an advertisement and more like one of those cardboard tags you'd find attached to the shoes at the store.

It took you more than 5 minutes to do because you played around with a lot of effects and shit but ended up with only having 2-3 of them applied to it.
Badly cut out the shoes with way too much feather. Found some grungy splattered brush, painted it on a layer behind the shoe. Slapped in a Render - lightning effects (the spotlight effect) on the background. Played with the photo filter or variations effect in Image - adjustments. Slapped on the text "Nike" with a unfitting font.
And for the second image you increased the contrasts to a horrible level with levels or brightness & contrast and changed the hue manually (CTRL + U) or with a new round of photo filter or variations.
It lacks composition. It lacks meaning put behind the choices of effects, font and brushes. (as in, chosen for a reason, not just because "it looks purdy") And it would never work as a AD as it doesn't inform you of anything, you don't even know what shoes they are if you want them.
Aight, let me point out what I find wrong with both pictures.

1. The spotlight effect you made is set in a really confusing angle compared to how the shoes are placed, which is horizontally. It would've worked if the shoes were slated too, but right now it does nothing but killing all depth.
2. It looks bad having the shoes overlay the letters when you can see the filters messing it up. I really just recommend you get rid of whatever filter you placed there entirely.
3. Again, filter rape, but the main problem is that you're letting the effects break the shoes apart and it looks like a chunk has been taken away.
4. Please take into consideration your shoes are on a flat surface, hence the shadow under them. You should take that into consideration BEFORE you throw splatter effects on the image. They should at the very least be angled so you add to the illusion that the shoes are on a flat surface.
5. If you add a light source, take into consideration how it affects the surface of the shoes.

Listen to this man, probably the best CC you'll get on your image.
