PLYMOUTH University will fill a room with puppies and cakes this February in a bid to help students de-stress.
Exams, dissertation deadlines and the stress of 9am lectures will all be forgotten when the Guide Dogs Trust visit the city centre campus on Thursday, February 18.

I go to the university literally opposite this one, the Plymouth college of art. We're not getting ANY puppies or cake :(
and yes that is the photo used in the article
This should be mandatory at college campuses tbh.
my uni does a similar thing during dead week where they'll bring in puppies in the engineering commons for students to play with
would love a dedicated room tho
Falmouth uni is but a stones throw away, I hope we follow suite.
They have destressing dogs during finals week, but year round would be great
This would be a nice way to advertise adoptable dogs at local shelters too.
already did this at Southampton Uni for exam periods
puppy rooms, goat petting etc
Puppies cure everything. If I had to choose a way to go it'd be smothering by a dozen puppies.
Where the kittens at
What if people want kittens?
while this is pretty good, there needs to be better education on stress management techniques
We have ducks at my college.
we were supposed to do this at our university, but they brought one dog for 400 students.
it didnt work
I seriously need this, I am currently nearly about to murder myself from stress, and counselling is not helping.
Nevermind I didn't read the article whoops
I thought this was common practice during finals week? I know my school does it.
We have this at Loughborough Uni during exam period, as do many other universities, I don't see how this is news worthy?

And from the looks of the article, this is just a one off because the guide dogs trust is visiting.
My college has massage sessions during finals. Puppies would have been better.
Could do with this here in Preston. It's been exam season for weeks for me, and it's absolutely wrecking. 9am lecture and an exam both tomorrow :v:
My university did this, except the dogs were all 15+ and some combination of deaf or blind so it was kind of depressing in a way.
Therapy dogs are great, normally super happy golden retrievers
Snowflakes... everywhere !

great meme post that doesnt apply to the article in any way my friend
This should be mandatory at college campuses tbh.
A&M does it during Finals. So did my community college. Shelter dogs.
My university had a petting zoo around the exams; it was amazing how calming it was to have a staring contest with a goat.

Hey buddy spreading awareness for the work guide dogs do and/or finding permanent homes for shelter dogs is serious business. Dogs are not for snowflakes, they're for people with a heart.

Well at least you weren't stressed anymore, just depressed.
What the fuck sort of universities are you people going to where you get all this cool shit.
I honestly believe that all university libraries should have a level or a large room that's full of beanbags etc, designed like creative spaces are for de-stressing while working

Take skype's offices as an example.
In my uni if you want to relax you are on your own. If you can't handle the stress learn how to before you fail your exams due to having a bunch of them the same day.
