This is how shitty the world, and Italy in particular, is becoming.

Berlusconi, the president of Italy, has been, since June 2009, accused of many sex scandals, where he would invite prostitutes (named by him "Escorts" to try and hide that they were, in fact, bitches) to his house in Arcore (MI), at parties he would occasionally throw where there have been, allegedly, many sexual interchanges, for money and presents towards the girls.
The latest scandal is about an underage girl nick-named "Ruby", which would be the daughter of some African nation's president, where Berlusconi first phoned a police-station to make the authorities release her from jail, and then brought her at his house where he allegedly had sex with her and many other prostitutes.
Now, "Ruby" was 17 at the time of the scandal. Berlusconi, being the fucking dictator and scum he is, has many times accused judges to stand by the side of the communist party just because they accuse him of such crimes.
This, anyway, was just an introduction to what I'm going to tell you now.
In fact, on the 21st of January 2011 Berlusconi declared that he wants to push out a retro-effective law which should lower the age of majority to 17 years instead of 18.
The reason they say they want to do this because is that "the age of 18 is too high considering the level of maturity reached by young people today".
In reality, this is just another "ad personam" law, which means it's a law which is just made to save Berlusconi's ass from problems with law and jail.
Now tell me please, for how long is this going to go on. For how long will we have to be the at the mercy of a political class which only cares about their personal and legal interests, which use our money for their own needs instead of spending it for things that matter, or which instead of sustaining a normal political debate only use insults and bad words to describe the other party and other politicians?

berlusconi isnt really a political leader, even though he is elected in a position of one, he's just a man with a lot of money and power
sex scandals.. really?
what you do in your personal time should be your own business, with the exception of the underage girl.
other than that i see no problem. if you want to blow your money on hookers that fine
now look at the us. all congress does is try to spite the other side, allowing now actions to be done about anything. couple that with corporate lobbyists influencing every decision that actually does get made and you have a terrible combination this is bringing down the american naton
When he talked shit about Finland's food, I knew I would hate him forever.
Somebody needs to go wikileaks on his ass
an idol to all men
Kill Berlusconi. Problem solved.
Killing him would only give him (or his party) more strength. Last time they tried, he gained 50% political approval.
Italians are stupid as shit. I don't want to be Italian anymore.
Italy does not represent me.
He's a corrupt asshole that needs to die or get overthrown

The use of prostitutes is a crime. No matter if you do it on the street or in your bedroom. Privacy does not cover crimes. What he's trying to do is to pass a crime as a completely normal thing.
move to america, live the american dream!
What can I say. Sex is cool.
This doesn't surprise me.
What can I say. Sex is cool.
Sex with a prostitute is not cool nor legal.
Sex with a prostitute is not cool nor legal.
It's still sex.

Oh no, our countries leader paid for sex ohhhh wahhhh he's such a dick wahhhhh, he pumped a 17 year old waahhhhh.
Maybe I just don't care bout the last part cause the age of consent here is 16.
He's such a fucking idiot. He's totally incompetent and hasn't achieved anything.
Worse is that he mindlessly wastes the money that citizens pay in form of taxes.

I'm pretty sure he has ties to the mafia. I think the fact that he payed for sex is the least of Italy's problems.
The prostitutes aren't that big of a problem, his corruption is.
Viva la revolution!
And how does the ancient romans solve their corruption problem? Italy's government might be corrupted
Sex with a prostitute is not cool nor legal.
Guess who's getting laid and who's getting left in the dust. :v:
Corrupt, corrupt everywhere!
Sounds like a prick. Fucker should be be gone.
Eh, 18 is way too high for age of consent anyway. Here in England it's 16.
I'm italian and i follow news about Berlusconi's prosecution every day and discuss it in class.
In my opinion he did have a prelationship with Ruby, but there is no proof or evidence. We only know that she went to his house and got paid but we don't know for sure what happened in there. Many people that have been in the house and told the press what goes on in there but who knows if they are telling the truth or if they have been paid to tell tales?
Berlusconi defended himself saying "This is ridiculous, aren't young people allowed to have dinner with the president anymore?"
