The soldiers aren't murderers, The leaders that send them to do the murdering are the ones to blame.
And if you are defending your country from invasion than probably yes. But most wars could just have had peaceful resolutions.

It's kill or be killed, what would you do if someone was pointing a gun in your general direction and shooting at you? Would you not shoot back?
