• Is the bible passage in Pulp Fiction real?

After watching Pulp Fiction again, I realize that the bible passage that Jules uses is totally fucking awesome. Here is the passage.
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
Is it actually in the bible? Or was it made up?
Why would they just make it up? It's probably real

It's in the Bible somewhat like that (misquoted in the movie).
Ezekiel 25:17 (King James Version) And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.
It's severely misquoted but based on an original passage.
Jules' speech from Ezekiel 25:17: 'The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.' This is actually not directly from Ezekiel 25:17 and in fact, only the last sentence and part of the second last sentence will be found there. The version of Ezekiel 25:17 was actually a mixture of Ezekiel 25:17 and bits from 23rd Psalm. Fear No Evil Psalm 23 1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever (NKJV).
Tarantino mixed one or two lines from Ezekiel 25:17 with Psalm 23 it appears. But the last line of his speech is in Ezekiel. Also avatar win. <---
That's awesome
That's awesome
So we talk about an infamous scene in an incredible and critically acclaimed movie and all you say is "awesome" without actually saying what your referring to?
I really should see this movie
snip
Pulp Fiction was a documentary, obviously that passage is real.
No matter if it's misquoted or not. It's still epic as all fucking hell.
Shut up.
you shutup
He says the book name and the chapter, you could have looked it up yourself.
for all people saying that its misquoted you guys are retards, there's thousands of versions of bibles, and they have different words.
It is wrong, he references different bibles for different words, plus the whole bit before the last line is nowhere in any bible. It's misquoted psalms and verses from different translations and versions. So yeah.
Why not go get your bible and check! Every home should have a bible
its not misquoted then its a mutant quote
It's severely misquoted but based on an original passage.
You know there are different versions of the Bible. The most accurate of which (of the English versions) is King James. It's the most literal translation to the Hebrew Greek texts. Now the most accurate literal translations would be the Russian/Greek Bibles because they were copied by the Byzantine monks. They were so literal at their translation and copy that if they screwed up on so much as punctuation, they'd throw away that scroll (or page or whatever they used) and started fresh again.
the poem in fallout 3 is real.
Is it just me, or has there been a strange influx of Tarantino threads lately?
