• Irish FP'ers: I need your help!

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I need your help: I've been trying to plan a vacation with three of my friends to Ireland (and possibly the British Isles), and I've been running into quite a few roadblocks, the largest being that I don't necessarily go and do "touristy" stuff. We want to experience as much of local life as possible, and see as many historical points as possible, and of course, pub-running. So, here's my question to you: If you live in Ireland or Scotland, or you've visited there, or you've seen a pretty picture and googled it, where the heck should we go? What the heck should we do? Thanks! P.S.: If there's anywhere near the continental exit for the Chunnel, and there's something neat near there we could do, we'd consider hitting it up! *edit* POSSIBLE DESTINATIONS NOW INCLUDE: Wexford Dublin Wicklow Wexford Waterford Blessington Lakes Cork City Fort Williams Falls of Loch Shin Giants Causeway
If you go to Scotland it is mandatory to go on a little hiking trip, and in Ireland to get really drunk (and post pictures of your cock online). Scotland is the kind of place where just walking around you'd get the most out of the local area, rather than going to specific places.
Who the fuck wants to visit "Ireland"? It's a shithole.
Go to Wexford
Hit up the east coast if you go to Scotland.
to Ireland (and possibly the British Isles)
ireland is in the british isles
If you come to Ireland, Check out Dublin then head around the country, go to Wicklow because it's a beautiful area, head down to Wexford and Waterford because that's a great tourist spot. Check out the Blessington Lakes if you go through Wicklow.
Go to Glasgow. It's a very friendly city and you won't get stabbed.
Go to Glasgow. It's a very friendly city and you won't get stabbed.
I've driven through Glasgow once and can confirm this.
So, so far on the list we have: Wexford, Dublin (obviously), Waterford, and the Blessington Lakes. By the way, I know how to play banjo and mandolin quite well, and I hear that people in pubs love anyone who can play an instrument. While my mom was in Ireland she said that if you were a tourist and you had an instrument the locals would be glad to play with you, can anyone confirm that? It sounds like a fucking blast. Also, regarding Glasgow, we're tourists, is it really dangerous at all for us?
Local culture... try going to the cities, Cork city has a nice night scene, and plenty to do around it, as for historical, West ireland is best, Kerry is one of the best you can get really, as for landscapes stuffs, look at the burren in Co.Clare,
Fort William in Scotlands good if you want a blend of pubs/shops and hiking, seeing as the highest mountain in Britian is around the corner from the pubs 'n' shit.
Try Belfast. Guaranteed friendly folk, paucity of litter, and great weather to boot. Loads of stuff to do as well. [sp]everything I say is a lie[/sp]

Emm, Scotland's good for some things. As someone's already said, It is really recommended you go on a hike, take in some of the scenery: Cape Wrath, Cairngorms, the Grampians etc. Also, we're really good for Outdoor activities if you go to the Perthshire area, white water rafting, climbing stuff like that. And if you like fishing you're spoiled for choice, some of the best salmon rivers in the world.
check out the loch ness
If someone wearing a navy tracksuit asks "Where yer fae" just fucking run.
Mainly North/Central Glasgow's like that. If you're muscly as fuck, you're pretty much safe.
check out the loch ness
Honestly, it's a bit overrated. It's just like any other Loch, it's not even the biggest. Loch Rannoch or Loch awe are much nicer.
Honestly, it's a bit overrated. It's just like any other Loch, it's not even the biggest. Loch Rannoch or Loch awe are much nicer.
but they don't have monsters in them
Depends on the Pub, I know a pub in Blessington that'd be glad to have you.
You know what, now that you mention it, I wonder if this means a meetup is in order :v: You guys would probably like Kelley, she's a giggly drunk.
but they don't have monsters in them
True, but there are Scottish women, which, honestly aren't that far off.
You could come up North to Belfast I suppose, just don't mention Ireland too much, some folks might take offence because of history etc etc. Could come check out the Harland and Wolfe shipyard where the titanic was built, just if you see alot of flags flying about that means you're in a loyalist/nationalist estate and they might not be too friendly! The city centre is sweet too, theres the Beautiful city hall ruined by emos sitting all over the decorative monuments lol. Lots to do but the weather is shite! You also have to go to portrush and get a ride on the choo-choo! The paramilitary murals are also beautiful, in a strange way. Theres just a sense of history everywhere. Oh and also, Northern Ireland or Ireland pick your pubs carefully read about them online! I'm not joking they'll start asking you where your from and things will get rowdy :o
Honestly, it's a bit overrated. It's just like any other Loch, it's not even the biggest. When I say house, I mean a castle.

Come in to Dublin, look around the City, head south into the Wicklow mountains through Blessington, keep going down in to Wexford, travel along the coast down Wexford. When you get to Waterford spend the night in the city, It's beautiful at night. That's the extent of my knowledge about my area, it's beautiful to look at, I'm sure you could Google up some stuff to do in the area. PS. don't go the centre of Ireland it's just depressing, go around the edge.

Giants Causeway, it's touristy but incredible.
Sweet God, Waterford looks gorgeous. The thing you guys should keep in mind is that I'm a Yank that's lived in the Southwest for most of his life. There isn't a building around here that isn't older than, say, the 1950's. Sad, really. We have no history here.
Go to Glencoe, it's on the way to Fort William and you honestly will not regret it. It's the most beautiful landscape I've ever seen.
