North Korean space agency officials say the country is developing a more advanced Earth observation satellite and are defending their right to conduct rocket launches whenever they see fit, despite protests by the United States and others that the launches are aimed primarily at honing military-use technologies.
The North launched its first and only satellite in 2012. The claim that it is working on another, made in an interview last week with an AP Television crew in Pyongyang, comes amid a flurry of attention to the country's fledgling space agency, including a visit by leader Kim Jong Un to a new satellite control center that was repeatedly broadcast on North Korean TV early last month.

These stories are so funny. Just wanted to give you guys a laugh.
By the time North Korea succesfully sends something to space, we'll have achieved time travel, parallel dimensions, immortality, world peace, intergalactic pacts with aliens and Valve will add microtransactions and paid mods to Half Life 3.
They're gonna use glue to hold this satellite together instead of rubber bands on the last one.

Too bad they already launched a satellite. Weather or not it's still in orbit is still open for debate.
Now where is my HL3, bucko?

They already did, a few years ago. Tumbled out of orbit, however.
they will send the ashes of the dearly departed leader to space

We'll also have cured world hunger, AIDS and cancer.
Is it true that the old man Kim thought they had a satellite in orbit that continuously would broadcast the DPRK's national anthem? I remember hearing about that a while back
bless the poor animal that will have a fishbowl attached to its' head before the catapault fires

Someone has to re-educate the aliens.
First to Mars: North Korea.
How long before they tie another one of their generals to a rocket and launch him into space for looking at Dear Leader funny?
they're planning to next send a space station up there so they can drop nukes from orbit since they can't seem to get them past the pacific ocean

Wonderful, then we have an excuse to restart the ASM-135 program

That'd be a waste, you can drop simple Tungsten rods and fuck up an entire city.

does it still count if they end up splattered all over the surface?
You all laugh now, but North Korea will end up being the first to contact an advanced alien race that they will befriend. This alien race of course will wipe out all of those who doubted Best Korea.

Oh God yes. Purple hearts all around. (Covered in pee)

North Korea has been at war with the Pacific ocean for decades. Don't mock their war with the ocean. They might win one day.

Pfft, the industrialized world will destroy the oceans in the pursuit of wealth way before NK could make a dent with their bombs.
i wonder if there is even anyone alive in north korea anymore
i wonder if there is even anyone alive in north korea anymore
pretty sure we'd notice if no one was alive over there

everything in this post is the realm of being very realist but Half - Life
I'm pretty sure the US doesn't even just launch a rocket whenever we see for, NASA has to communicate with tons of different airspaces, agencies, all to ensure we don't accidentally cause something, the air force gives other powers plenty of warning before conducting ICBM tests and usually go through NASA to launch their reconisence sats
there is a massive underground complex beneath the entire north korean region where they manufacture gigantic starships
There space station will be permanently geosynchronous under the sea.
