I did not have an SNES, but rather, a Sega Genesis.
I liked it.

Same, but my babysitter had a SNES and she let us play it. Ah good times.
This makes me want to play Super Mario World or Earthbound.
Better go dust off the good ol' supaboy.
PS3 is my first console.
I didn't grow up with Nintendo, one of the reasons I never got to playing Donkey Kong, Mario, Legend of Zelda, and so on until much later in life. My childhood of video games revolved more around the PC and Genesis, Playstation, Dreamcast, and eventually the Gamecube, PS2, and XBOX. Instead, I grew up with Sonic, Ecco the Dolphin, Mortal Kombat, Aladdin, Earthworm Jim, Everquest Online, (with my dad's help) and so on and so forth.

I feel sorry for your childhood.
I never got to live with the glory of the SNES properly, I had the console but practically no games, I think because we had practically every Genesis game you could get your hands on at that time. That said I catch up via emulators and there's certain stuff like Super Metroid that I luckily managed to play way back when.

No need to, I had Doom and Wolfenstein 3D.
If I ever found a video like that of me, I would have swiftly ended that tape with a gun. Or fire.
Oh, someone asking to bring the bout to this thread again?

All of his non-AVGN stuff on Cinemassacre (excusing know what's bullshit) is like this.

He did say in one avgn episode that he knows it's getting stale, but it's part of the character.
Anyway, I loved this and would like to see more like it.

Watch his memories stuff, it's great (Contra and Double Dragon). Also, if you want to see something really personal about him, watch "The dragon in my dreams".
I prefer the Mega Drive to the Snes, it's quite collectable with it's varients and accessories. I like that you can use it as a master system with a converter and the Mega CD which I know is known for it's shitty video based games, but in it's defense it gives the Mega Drive somewhat of a bios screen so you don't stare at a blank screen if the cartridge needs blowing alongside the fact you can use the model 1 to hook your Mega Drive and CD to a HIFI system. Granted it had less varity than the Snes with half a tonne of platformers but to me thats good as I really enjoy playing them.
Also, I would like to know how those adverts could air, if those were put on in the UK they most likely would of got a massive bollocking because it talks about a rival in name.
First console i had was the Atari, Went next door to play my neighbours super nintendo and went further down the road to my friends to play the pc with streetfighter and Independence Day.
My first proper console was a Wii but one of my childhood friends had a SNES with SSF2. God fucking damn, I spent SO many hours there.
I sadly wasn't around during the SNES/Genesis days, but I do remember the rivalry between the Nintendo 64 and the PS1.
Pointing out his fanboyism reminded me that I was the same way, albeit with newer consoles. Back when the 360 and the PS3 were just concepts, and the Wii was still called the Revolution, I'd spend so much time looking at the magazine previews of each console and point out all the flaws of the 360 and PS3, while ignoring everything wrong with the Wii. It's kind of funny thinking about it now.
I like how the entire first part of this just hypes you up for the next one. I can't wait.
I probably would have hated those Sega commercials as well, I hate the whole "We're better than this brand because" style, especially when it came to the Mac vs PC commercials.
In saying that I have no beef with the Genesis, I think I only ever played one once or twice.
We were pretty much a Nintendo family back then, with the SNES, Virtual Boy, Gameboy and the N64.
My first console was the SNES.
I still have it, and even play some games on it every now and then with my brother :v:
I prefer the SNES, but I'll admit my opinion is a little biased seeing as I never owned a MegaDrive.
I did however go over to my cousins' house just for the sole reason to play the Sonic games on his.

Cinemassacre 200 and The dragon in my dreams, both heavily personal to him and really fucking good documentaries.
