Funny, because most of that is new to me and the blog doesn't say that it is new, so maybe you should go back to being a terrible sniper.
I love the ambient occlusion mod. It leaves the game's visual style nicely intact, but gives everything depth. It's lovely.
Wish Notch would add some of these into the official game.

Somebody made a script to convert those voxel models into MCEdit schematics.
So now you don't even have to do that pesky "build stuff" step!
