• Crows Respond To Owl In Their Airspace

Just filmed this today. Went outside to check out why there was seemingly a million crows cawing at once. Turns out it was an owl that was eating one of them. Crows from all over came to attack the owl. The owl drops the crow and is eventually pushed away by the crow mob. The wounded crow goes to a nearby tree and after a while I see the owl burst out of that tree, holding the crow by the neck, and like 50 other crows were behind it. The owl dropped the crow and flew down the highway with fighter-crows in tow. I wish I could've filmed that part, but the video cut off due to full memory :( I'm just glad I got to record the insane cawwing. At one point it was just a hum, not even individually distinguishable.
Any chance you can disable the video stabilizer?
That's pretty badass. Now I gotta go watch Fargo after hearing your guys' accents.

Ehhhh you sure that's an owl? That looks like a massive hawk to me. Bit hard to tell due to the video quality but given this is a day time occurrence and the narrow shape of the head I'm pretty inclined to say hawk (not to say all owls don't hunt in the day, just that most don't). Fucking awesome vid none the less.
There's a reason a group of crows is called a murder.
crows are fucking awesome
That's a red tail buzzard.
That's a red tail buzzard.
Didn't know this but apparently you guys call them buzzards while we call them hawks. Here they're called red-tailed hawks lol. But yeah it probably is given how fucking common those guys are. Certainly not an owl tho ffs

I'm sorry you guys, my neighbor said it was an owl and I believed him. Forgive me! How could I have been led so astray! I've let you all down.
you're dead to me [editline]31st October 2015[/editline] can't even look at you tbh
Damn, and here I thought watching fieldfares have occasional 2v1 skirmishes with jackdaws were interesting to look at. Wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that featherstorm.
Crows are badass
Reminds me of that green text story about the guy who kept feeding crows McDonald's fries until he had his own crow army. Requesting that story if anyone has it.
crows are fucking awesome
Ehh, my brother once told me he saw a crow on the street chipping away at dog shit for food. He was pretty horrified.
