"Reeling in the Years is a historical documentary series broadcast in Ireland by RTÉ. Each episode, approximately 25 minutes long, looks back at the news and events of a particular year, from 1962 to 2009. The programme uses news archive footage, along with subtitles as the means of narration, to recount notable Irish and international events of the time. Music from the particular year is also played over the footage, with occasional scenes of live performances or music videos, generally (but not exclusively) by an Irish artist."
I love this show its my favourite history documentary series and the best RTÉ 1 program. The nostalgia I get from the 90s series of this show is huge. Most of the episodes are on youtube. The use of music and subtitles make this show amazing. If you like modern Irish history from 1960s onward then this is the program for you.

To be honest, the audience for it isn't really here. It's a staple of Irish television, everyone in Ireland knows it, and personally I enjoy it, but the interest for it is fairly localised to Ireland.
