What an amazing way to shoot yourself in the leg. Just seeing that clusterfuck spreadsheet is enough to put me off the game.
Or, just buy the standard version and stop giving a shit about cosmetics and sweatshop statues.
Or, just buy the standard version and stop giving a shit about cosmetics and sweatshop statues.
That is a terrible solution
That is a terrible solution
How? You get the game, and Ubisoft doesn't get a sale of the "bad" editions because you voted with your wallet.
Oh... collector's editions. Yeah I think I'm good. Most collector's editions are bullshit anyway. I remember when people were going nuts over Halo and Call of Duty collector's editions. Then again I might get one if it's good and it's a game that I'm really looking forward to like Witcher 3 and Half Life 3. I think it's really stupid how collector's editions offer in game items now rather than more physical items. I appreciate any posters, maps, artwork, and a CD that contains developer commentary.
Oh... collector's editions.
pretty sure they had something in place where you could send in a ticket to cdpr and they would send a new, unbroken bust.
Or, just buy the standard version and stop giving a shit about cosmetics and sweatshop statues.
Indeed, I don't have to buy any of those 5 Collector's editions to enjoy a game. Also it's silly for people to immediately look at this and go "TOTTALY NOT BUYING THE GAME NOW BECAUSE OF ALL THE EDITIONS I DON'T HAVE TO BUY!." I mean I'm sure game quality isn't defined by the extra goodies you get from any of them. Spoiler: It's defined in the fucking game itself.
Spoiler: It's defined in the fucking game itself.
And it better be chiseled to perfection because I've been looking forward to Person of Interest: The Game for far too long.
so is Wacth Dog's 1080p 60 fps or what now.?
I mean I'm sure game quality isn't defined by the extra goodies you get from any of them.
Those aren't just little goodies, those are literately chunks of the game taken out and forcing the player to pay extra to enjoy the game's full package, else they can just play a shriveled up peasant edition of the game. It's bad practice and people should be complaining about it.
I don't know why they would go out and make statues and all these collectors editions. It's not an established series yet.
I like how in the beginning he's like "I would talk about the whole FCC vs net neutrality but that would just be one point dragged on for too long." And then he makes one point about the collectors edition and drags it on for too long.

That anon later admitted to making his own shitty bust just for the the sake of shitposting. I mean, it was on /v/ of all places. /v/ isn't exactly a trustworthy source of news or information. As far as collector's editions are concerned, I believe that if a game has too many editions then it's pretty stupid. What happened to "Standard", "Limited", and "Collectors"? Standard being just the game, Limited being some interesting extras (like a making of DVD and an artbook) and Collectors featuring all of the sweet goodies like posters, promotional stuff, making of DVDs, game soundtracks, cool box art, etc etc. It really disappoints me that most collector's editions of games just feature access to overpowered in-game items. Mass Effect 3's Collector's Edition actually came with a shitload of special weapons and armor that is already included in the game, but inaccessible to non-purchasers of the Collector's Edition. However, after release someone discovered that you could just do some really simple editing to an INI file and unlock all of the Collector's Edition stuff for free, on a non-Collector's edition version of the game. Stupid shit like that shouldn't even be allowed. If it's included in the game on different versions, it should be included on all versions.
I'm confused by that chart. Why doesn't the Dedsec edition come with the Dedsec pack?

My ideal collector's edition: Steel book, game CD, soundtrack CD, developer commentary cd, art book, some sort of trinket (necklace, dogtag, ring, coin, etc.), and perhaps a figurine of the protagonist.
so is Wacth Dog's 1080p 60 fps or what now.?
I'm not sure which of the Collectors Editions that comes in, I'll have to check my spreadsheet.
I'm confused by that chart. Why doesn't the Dedsec edition come with the Dedsec pack?
Because Ubisoft is just that incompetent.
Those aren't just little goodies, those are literately chunks of the game taken out and forcing the player to pay extra to enjoy the game's full package, else they can just play a shriveled up peasant edition of the game. This is literally tantamount to highwaymen robbing and murdering poor exploited bankers. What a day we live in, we should fight this horrible corruption of extra things being sold for extra money.
Or, just buy the standard version and stop giving a shit about cosmetics and sweatshop statues.
The community uproar helps in the message to Ubisoft that this isn't okay. Sure, we can just "not buy it," but this kind of thing is exactly what really pushes it forward.
Or, just buy the standard version and stop giving a shit about cosmetics and sweatshop statues.
Not a god damn thing will change if the anger isn't loud. Enough of this passive "wallet vote" bullshit.
Those aren't just little goodies, those are literately chunks of the game taken out and forcing the player to pay extra to enjoy the game's full package, else they can just play a shriveled up peasant edition of the game. Besides, the appeal in this game for me is that it's a fucking sanbox game in Chicago, my home city. Been waiting on that shit for ages now.
FYI, that bust is fake. The messed up one, anyway. That anon later admitted to making his own shitty bust just for the the sake of shitposting.
I can assure you, though the bust may be fake, That post is anything but shit.
Or, just buy the standard version and stop giving a shit about cosmetics and sweatshop statues.
Or sail the high seas and plunder everything with no bullshit strings attached. Everyone always talks about making your content more appealing to purchase than pirate. This is about as slam dunk of a case in the opposite direction as you can actually get. You are directly punished for trying to be a good consumer here.

If you dislike what a company is doing about DLC, pirating it so you can play it only tells them that you want more DLC but don't want to pay for it (for one reason or another). If you want to send them a message about DLC, don't buy it and don't pirate it. Pirating it only gives them more reason for DRM.
Collector's Editions are purely optional. You can still get the CE exclusive crap if you buy the Season Pass anyway. Vote with your wallet.
But Season Passes are even worse. You're preordering DLC without even knowing what it will be.

I've literally never seen anyone on this forum defend a ludicrous fuckup of terrible marketing in my entire life.

If you don't like the ludicrous amounts of DLC, don't buy them. The game should stand on its own without them. If they can't (which I doubt is the case), then that's another issue.
What an amazing way to shoot yourself in the leg. Just seeing that clusterfuck spreadsheet is enough to put me off the game.
what do you mean, aren't you excited to get a sweet AIDEN PIERCE'S ICONIC CAP or STEALTH SCARF with your video game purchase?
