The Avenue at White Marsh transformed into a spooky scene Friday night.
Mobs of Marylanders from Annapolis to Pikesville dressed in their scariest zombie attire to participate as extras in a scene in the independent film, "My Boring Zombie Apocalypse."
From 11 p.m. Friday until nearly 2 a.m. Saturday, participants handed over release forms, registered with the film's crew and applied mud, fake blood and sickly green makeup.
"We're all zombie enthusiasts," Chelsea Willis, 44, said as she and three friends waited in line to register. "We're part of a non-profit group called Zombie Walkers, and we just had to come out here."
Wearing a tattered suit and white shirt smattered with hauntingly realistic blood, 31-year-old Barrett Ray Madison of Clarksville said his passion for zombies brought him to the film shoot.
"My friend is on the crew, so that, and my love for zombies, and I figured I'd come out here tonight." Madison said.
After participants became mud-stained and disheveled, zombie actors split into four groups on the Avenue's side streets.
For several takes, the groups converged and limped, shuffled and staggered their way up the Avenue's main street, toward the central square of the shopping center.
Jessica Lipka of Dundalk couldn't explain her fascination with the undead. "I don't know, zombies are just cool," she said.
I live about 30 minutes or so away from this place and I knew about it but I missed the deadline to get some form they had signed, feels bad man. Considering there's nothing huge like this in Maryland. :smith:
It's probably a bad thing I thought this was like, real zombies.
Also a couple of the zombies in the video look like they have eaten a couple of lead paint chips.
It's all fun and games until someone overreacts and shoots one of them. :v:
Ahh, nothing like a goold old zombiewalk!
I've started going to my local zombiewalk, It helps raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital, and it freaks people out on the bus!
Was a shooting for a movie, but okay.
I hate that I missed this especially since some friends were there too...
Surprisingly close to me :tinfoil:
Something like this makes me realize we wouldn't even notice a zombie infection going on :byodood:
