I don't think I'll ever watch another AVGN video, but I always love seeing him do shit like this.
I wish I could have an amateurish Youtube start like him, but I guess it's too late now when the audience is focused on watching high-profiled productions involving Let's Plays.
To me, James Rolfe is the original Let's Player - even though he isn't technically one.
How do you know this for sure?

He started when Youtube was barley a thing. So we was kinda the first big "lets player" on Youtube.
Well he did his show before youtube was even launched, let alone "barely a thing"

Mack and Mesh are the original lets players that I know of. It was before the time of Youtube and they had their website Mack and Mesh Does. His most famous is Mesh does Doom (which I remember laughing at a buttload).

Oh yeah, I get how you can see that the old Youtube audience has matured.
He's slowly turning into Matthew Broderick.
I still like AVGN, although his "anger" is fake, but since he actually does research on games, plays them to competition, and generally justifies gripes of gaming.
Unlike Angry joe or the like AVGN seems to keep some form of humility of it.
I don't usually watch AVGN but holy shit! I didn't know it was 10 years since he started his own series!
in '97 he looked like mid thirties middle eastern man yet sounded the same as he does now
the fuck
Holy fuck he was 17, and his voice hasn't changed one bit since
