Sen. Rand Paul on Friday defended his criticism of Hillary Clinton over the 2012 attack against a U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
The Kentucky Republican, rebutting claims that Benghazi criticism is "politically motivated," said Clinton's handling of the attack was a legitimate topic of discussion as she considers a presidential bid.
"There will be discussion over the next four years whether or not Hillary Clinton is fit to lead this country," he said at a Dallas event hosted by the conservative group Americans for Prosperity. "Is Hillary Clinton fit to be commander in chief?"
The audience fired off a robust round of 'no's.
The first-term senator went on to compare Benghazi to the 1993 mission in Mogadishu, Somalia, in which 18 U.S. military members were killed. Two months after the tragedy, President Bill Clinton announced the resignation of Les Aspin, then secretary of the defense. Aspin had taken heat for denying security requests for U.S. forces in the region just a month before the attack.
"He ignored the request and he resigned ultimately in disgrace," Paul said. "I think had Hillary Clinton worked for Bill Clinton, she'd probably have been fired."
What the hell is the deal with the Benghazi shit, anyway? It was a terrorist attack on U.S. assets, and somehow Obama's fault?
What the hell is the deal with the Benghazi shit, anyway? Though I'm sure some people blame Obama just because he's <whatev> and they don't like that.

I respect your views, but hes a bit too wacko for me
He's a Tea Party conservative in favor of a flat tax. Thanks, but no.

As times goes on and more and more people realize how small of an event it was in comparison to everything else that has happened in the 21st century, it really just looks pathetic to even make it a focal point.

There seem to be two controversies:
1) That Obama did not do enough to save the soldiers and the ambassador, and that he may even have allowed them to die for political reasons.
2) That the administration had concealed the true nature of the attack: claiming it was a spontaneous riot in response to the "Innocence of Muslims" video when in fact it was a pre-planned terrorist attacked. many wonder why this would need to be concealed.
That's my understanding of it anyway.
the year is 2020
republicans still wont stfu about benghazi
1000 years from now, a religion will have been created and consume the entire planet, in which followers do nothing but chant "Benghazi" forever.
I like how there's evidence that the Bush Administration was informed of signs that a terrorist attack would happen before 9/11 and they allegedly ignored them
but Obama is a worse president because of Benghazi

His tax stances really have no impact on this topic of discussion with Benghazi.

Believing a flat tax can work (as a politician) is beyond ignorant. The fact that he holds that position suggests that everything else he believes is likely due a drastic increase in scrutiny.
I support Rand Paul because he builds his beliefs on solid values, and seems like an honorable person. Hillary, on the other hand, has built her career through pandering and corruption.

It's a response to what the OP said.
