Usually local news stays local unless it gets more attention from national press, and if it stays a local story, you might not find a second source. I don't see any reason to doubt the validity though.

Sadly when news like this seems too ridiculous to possibly be true, it still probably is true. I imagine because of how wild it is, it'll pick up some additional coverage soon though
Finding that the man owes nothing and testifying to it TWICE, then demanding that he pay his ex's attorney fees? Are you kidding? This man did NOTHING to deserve the shit just thrown upon him. This case is so ass-backwards that it literally astounds me at the stupidity involved.
He kind of shot himself in the foot walking out of the court room. You have to unfortunately play nice with the system if you want anything to go your way.
