My Grandpa was just sent to jail for stabbing my Grandma

My mom came home in tears about two hours ago because she was at my grandparent's (her parents) house, which was surrounded by police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks, because my Grandpa went crazy after taking wayy too many conflicting medications for too long. My Grandpa pulled a dagger out of his gun cabinet, walked up to her and stabbed her in the stomach. She is in critical condition at the moment, in an ICU at a local hospital, and my Grandpa is in jail, about to be moved to some sort of psychiatric ward. I don't know how he could possibly be driven to do this, and I hope he suffers being off of his medication. He has always been an asshole, but my Grandma has always been the sweetest relative I've had.
The story goes that my Grandpa finally lost it when him and my Grandma were arguing about some sort of medical insurance bill or something, I have no idea. But, at first they were talking, then yelling, then one of them threw a glass vase at the other, followed by a chair in return, followed by my Grandpa grabbing my older brother's playstation and trying to throw it at a wall. My Grandma grabbed it, and they were both holding onto it, so she hit my Grandpa across the face with her fist. So he ran, grabbed a dagger, and stabbed her. The neighbors heard sounds before that, as they had been fighting for at least an hour, and called the police. When they arrived, they found him in the house. He is in bad health, which is why he was taking so many medications. He is also overweight. So the 4 officers asked him if he was doing alright. With the dagger in his hand still, he replied yes. The officers began asking him questions about his arms and legs, finally asking "so, can you move your arms?" he replied "Yes," so they asked "can you show us? Move your arms level to your shoulders." So he did. Then they sad "Good, now raise them above your head" all the while, they were surrounding him. He failed to notice until it was too late. He threw his knife at the ground and tried to run, but they jumped on him and handcuffed him.
I feel so sorry for my Grandma. :(
I hope your grandmother will be alright.
I also hope your grandfather gets supporting psychiatric help he needs.
They tricked him. Pretty clever cops.
he must have left clicked

Wow. That's horrible.
My condolences.
How old is he?
what drugs was he on?
After ~40 years, your grandpa finally had enough with the relationship
They're both around 62 years old. My Grandpa is actually a Vietnam vet.

God knows, he was taking all sorts of pain meds, depression meds, things that don't go together and that you're not supposed to take together.

Damn, that sucks, it's still too young to die (average life expectancy around here is more than 70 IIRC)

He was having a flashback from the war because of all the drugs and this happened.
Also, I feel sad now.
you know man, those old people...
Fuck. I laughed. :ohdear:
Cops are awesome. A great example of this are when cops arrive in a movie that I can't remember the name of and the woman actually doesn't cooperate with the cops even though she's being burgled and the cops at a last resort actually give her a chance to blink (the place was covered in security cameras) if she couldn't say something. And she just laughed and went back to being burgled. That cop is still awesome. Even though it was a movie and he's fictional.

You are a horrible person.
Wow. That sounds like an epic fight. I always knew the fights they had at my school were bitch fights, but this confirms it if 70 year olds can do this.
Poor playstation :(

Stupid mood swings.
That's horrible. Daggers should go in the dagger cabinet, not the gun cabinet.
Your grandma punched your grandpa in the face?
What an OG.

Yeah, according to the cops, she hit him pretty hard, too. Lots of blood. Everywhere. From stab wounds, punches and whatnot.
I really hope she's ok. KEEP US UPDATED!
Nothing really to update right now, all of this information is 2+ hours old. I really want to know how my grandmother is doing, I haven't heard anything on her other than that she is in a hospital.
Good read. I'm very sorry and hope your Grandma recovers. Although she is in critical condition, wait for the moment when you can visit her. Waste no time. My condolences.
I hope your grandma pulls through ):
