I need a good working tutorial for making an image transparent, It's only worked for me once, now never again, I've look up on youtube, google. And none of them could help me make an image transparent. I've had many layers so what I did was I merged them all, and went to Select>Load selection then Save selection. Then the background would turn pink when I went into Channels and clicked Alpha 1. I have Photoshop CS4 if anybody was wondering. Pictures/videos would be the best of help.
Are you saving as jpeg? Try saving your image as a .png or a .gif.
Still white in the background :/
Open up the image in photoshop or whatever. Make sure whatever you want is transparent. If it isn't use the magic wand tool, or something else to select what you want to be invisible. Hit delete. Save as a .png file.
Didn't work :(
Make sure in photoshop, the background is a checkered pattern... It should look like this: [img]http://imgkk.com/i/T8WK3i.png[/img] If there is a Background layer, make sure you make it invisible or delete it. [img]http://imgkk.com/i/z4mjqD.png[/img]
Yeah it does have a checkered pattern, but it still has a white background :frown:

Upload it so we can try and do it for you?
[QUOTE=Zyx;16641499]Upload it so we can try and do it for you?[/QUOTE] Maybe he wants to do it himself.
[QUOTE=SweetSwifter;16641436]Save as an Interlaced .png file.[/QUOTE] What this guy said, it won't work otherwise.
[QUOTE=Stunted;16641524]What this guy said, it won't work otherwise.[/QUOTE] I never save as interlaced, yet my .png files are always transparent (If I made it transparent of course) [editline]10:46AM[/editline] [QUOTE=xZippy;16641512]Maybe he wants to do it himself.[/QUOTE] We already told him how to do it. so either he didn't do it right, or have some magically file that just refuse to be transparent,
[QUOTE=Zyx;16641541]I never save as interlaced, yet my .png files are always transparent (If I made it transparent of course) [/QUOTE] I meant the png part not so much the interlaced part, should of probably made that more clear.
File -> Save for Web Select PNG-24 or one of the GIFs from the presets list on the right. Ignore most of the options, just make sure transparency is ticked.
Okay, im just going to upload it here. I would like it the same width and height. I would like it in targa so I could use it as a Source Engine spray and such. This one is either PNG/JPEG/TGA because it got fucked up during the upload. [img]http://filesmelt.com/downloader/123anc.jpg[/img]
You have CS4, yet you don't even know how to make an image transparent. Wow.

[editline]08:36PM[/editline] What, because it got fucked when you uploaded? No
Make sure the [B]background layer[/B] is deleted.

Well we can't do shit because the stroke on text is soft which makes it [b]impossible[/b] to transparentize. [editline]08:51PM[/editline] Upload a .psd.

(quote tags to show it better) [quote][img]http://old.filesmelt.com/Imagehosting/pics/f9b71bfad452f4727934ad7a402bc67b.png[/img][/quote] [editline]03:40PM[/editline] Also if you're using it as a spray it needs to be 256x256, I cropped it down and converted it to a .vtf for you.
