I know this may seem like a newbie question, but I've been searching for almost half an hour now and have got myself nowhere.
What I am asking is how (working in FL Studio) do I get a sample to stop playing after I end my MIDI input? For example, in a vocal sample, just want to hear the first word when I hit a pad, so I would tap it as long as the first word and would only hear that, rather than the entire sample playing.
Help would be appreciated :)
Put the sample in the Fruity granulizer or slice it up using Slicer or Slicex
Thanks :)

You have no idea how many possibilities this opens for me right now haha.
Using a granulizer or slicex just for that is a waste. Hit the INS tab on the channel settings window for the sample you're trying to edit and enable the volume envelope.

Click the circled things and then play with the underlined knobs.
I just found out about that an hour ago :v:
You could also slice it in the playlist. Which is easier.

And then save the chopped samples and then use it on a midi thingy pingy :D

Whether or not that is easier completely depends on what you are doing with the sample. If I bounce out and resample a sustained bass note and I want to use it to write a bass line it's going to be a lot easier to use the sampler in FL and the piano roll to do that versus doing it in the playlist ;)
