Seems kind of pointless considering he didn't have traction at any single point of that. Could probably get the same smoky drifty tractionless with a lot less horsepower

awesome!
why does it say 500hp if it's 262 :v:
why does it say 500hp if it's 262 :v:
because racecar
the hue-hue's made something notable for the first time in history, nice.
A fucking 62kg turbo. That thing is bigger than my goddamn head.
why does it say 500hp if it's 262 :v:
because 262 is the kart's rated brake horsepower. the engine's crankshaft might be able to spin at 500hp freely, but there's a huge loss in horsepower between the engine and the gearbox from my understanding [editline]8th October 2014[/editline] 262BHP is a lot different than 262hp, for simplicity's sake

Based on how the kart was driving, it seemed more like 262, considering a normal kart has more like 26 horsepower. I can't read Portugese, does it say at the end that it's a GTi engine? That's insane, I can't imagine why you'd need a turbo that big to get 262 out of a golf engine. Just seems counterproductive, really, considering that the bigger turbo will mean more lag will mean the tiny 2.0 litre will have even more trouble down low but uh, I don't know a whole lot about putting car engines in karts so. Maybe makes sense if it's a single drive go kart. [editline]8th October 2014[/editline] Also every video of Brazilian 'track days' that I've seen are just a bunch of people driving dangerously in opposite directions doing burnouts on a runway.

The original GTI put out something like 110 horsepower, so it's not surprising that they would need a big turbo for 262 horsepower.

Let's be honest, even a tired 2.0L I4 is going to throw a gokart around like a fucking ragdoll, the lag and lack of low end are probably the only way they can get that thing to move at all. If all 262HP hit instantly it would never be able to drift, it'd just instantly start doing a burnout.
