Manning will announce his retirement on Monday at 1 p.m. ET after 18 seasons in the league, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports according to a source close to Manning. Manning called key Broncos figures including VP John Elway and coach Gary Kubiak on Saturday night to tell them of his plans.
[Happening now 1:13pm est at Broncos facility] He is going to give his speech about his retirement in a few moments. A true NFL legend, glad to see him leave the league on top, can't wait until his hall of fame speech in a few years.
Jesus Fuck. 18 god damn years. God Speed you magnificent bastard.
Good for him. But whose going to replace him on the papa johns commercials???
Good for him. But whose going to replace him on the papa johns commercials???
Himself.
Heh, 18 years and he retires, his number is 18. heh.

Not to mention Steve Young has been in them for a while now who is retired, so there's no reason Peyton (owner of 4 restaurants in Colorado) won't be Anyways, it's been a pleasure watching him QB the Broncos the last 4 years. And watching him the many years before that beating the Broncos. I wonder if he'll go into broadcasting or become a coach now.
Now who else would 40-year old white people look up to for inspiration?
Tom Brady
But who is after Tom "America's Biggest Dreamheart" Brady?
after Brady, really you can only go based on playing time in the league since nobody is really coming close to his numbers. you'll probably have your Roethlisberger fans after Brady. but honestly, it's time for the young kids to start paving their path to legend status [editline]7th March 2016[/editline] I'd say Drew Brees/Ben Roethlisberger will be up there after Brady, but there's a significant gap between Tom Terrific and those two [editline]7th March 2016[/editline] oops, Aaron Rodgers. he's number 2 for sure.

So he'll probably be the guy after Brady
Heh, 18 years and he retires, his number is 18. heh.
NFL players are superstitious and often ascribe a special meaning to the number on their jersey's in accordance with numerology so it would not be a surprise if this was deliberate. I believe "18" may be Manning's "go-to" number.
