The tablet will hit the market in July, according to a Thursday report from DigiTimes. Shipments -- about 600,000 initially -- are set to begin in June, the Taipei-based publication claimed. Asus is expected to manufacture the device. NPD DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shim told CNET previously that a 7-inch Goggle tablet was in the works, though a June shipment date means that an original projection of an April production run was apparently premature. That said, total production for 2012 of about two million units, cited in today's report, is in keeping with NPD DisplaySearch's original estimate. The tablet's details are not known but there has been speculation about Android 4.0 running on top of a quad-core chip. If Google's 7-inch tablet materializes and a rumored tablet 7.85-inch "iPad Mini" from Apple also surfaces, that would add to a growing collection of smaller tablets from first-tier suppliers. Amazon is already a major force in the 7-inch market segment and Samsung has recently begun selling its 7-inch Galaxy Tab 2.
wait a bit, and give it jellybean!
that thing has a quad core? my mind doesn't even understand how we can make tech that small.
LOL Ipad Copy xD
An 17.8cm tablet. Where the hell is the line between things like Ipod Touches and the bigger tablets? It keeps blurring.
that thing has a quad core? my mind doesn't even understand how we can make tech that small.
Phones have quad cores
An 17.8cm tablet. Where the hell is the line between things like Ipod Touches and the bigger tablets? It keeps blurring.
The line is a little bit after the galaxy note.
Phones have quad cores
I saw an ad on Dual Core tech for some phone just recently so this to me is quite an astounding discovery
LOL Ipad Copy xD
Go back to 2007 please
An 17.8cm tablet. Where the hell is the line between things like Ipod Touches and the bigger tablets? It keeps blurring.
Fuck I dunno, I've already seen the phrase "Phablets" used to describe the Samsung Galaxy Note.
Manufactured by Acer? hmm i may have to look into this Acer products last for a very long time. My mom has a laptop made by Acer that has lasted 7 years, still has not broken down.
Manufactured by Acer? hmm i may have to look into this Acer products last for a very long time. [editline]24th May 2012[/editline] Also Acer products aren't known for their longevity at all. Their products are pretty cheap.
So, is the reporter just a moron, or is this actually a Google developer device, like the Nexus series is? I bet it's the first.
I saw an ad on Dual Core tech for some phone just recently so this to me is quite an astounding discovery
Phones have had dual core processors for quite a while - the Galaxy S2, Galaxy Nexus, iPhone, etc all have dual core processors. The HTC One X (the international version) and the Galaxy S3 are the only ones that I know of with quad cores though.
I've never had a good experience with an Asus product. Are they a good brand overall? agree - good brand disagree - bad
That sounds fucking sick.
I've never had a good experience with an Asus product. Are they a good brand overall? agree - good brand disagree - bad
Except for a few of their VERY CHEAP motherboards I haven't had any problems with them.
Hopefully we'll actually get a really cool, functional, user-friendly tablet that's super versatile and non-buggy. That would be kick-fucking-ass, but that's a lot to ask for...
