Well it's that time again, the iSeries LAN thread torch has been passed to me.

The i-Series is the UK's Largest LAN Party, where thousands of gamers from all around the UK, Europe and beyond gather together for a weekend of gaming, socialising and more. So what is the i-Series? Essentially, at it's core the i-Series is a celebration of gaming in all it's forms. It's a festival, a LAN, a weekend of hardcore gaming, a 4-5 day tournament, an exhibition with the latest & greatest games and hardware, and a social gathering of gamers from the world over! The event runs from the 4th to the 7th of May 2012, you can buy EAS (early arrival service, £15) which most of us will be doing to get pretty much an extra day at the event, which would mean it starts on the 3rd at about 7pm. From i43 onwards, the new home of the i-Series is the International Centre, Telford. Which is fantastic because it's a more central location, has a number of hotels onsite/nearby and a bigger capacity (3000 BYOC) while being less spread out Move to Telford AnnouncementVenue Video Click for map i42 images: i40 images: The price is £92 for a BYOC ticket, and another £15 if you wish to come a day early (EAS) Set your game area as TF2 when you book. Or Maybe 'Other Games' who the fuck knows Click here for ticket information If you intend to sit with us, PM me or post in this thread when you've bought your ticket and whether you've paid for EAS Ensure those of you sitting with us use the clan tag [FP] because when it comes to seating, if a defrag occurs to clean up rows etc, if you don't have the clan tag the same as the rest of us, you might get automoved to some other row far away. I see this every year, and I wish I lived in the UK.
Oh hey it's back, and sadly I can't go, ever. I'm too far away.
Great posts guys, see you in the thread next year! [editline]25th November 2011[/editline] Also posting this again for the lols.
Oh wow that £64 offer is so god damn enticing. I'll be sure to go to this if I can find anyone else local that wants to go before the offer ends.
I got back from i44 the other day and had the time of my life  It was my first time and I can definitely say I will be going again, hopefully I can convince the rest of GamersFolly to come to i45, they want to skip it and go to i46. I'd rather go to both but I wont go alone. :v:
i45 will be just as big as i46, the summer lans used to be more popular but now the easter ones are just as popular with punters and exhibitors.
I'll see what I can do, I'm definitely up for it and so is one of the guys. We'll just have to see who else wants to, there was 12 of us at i44 so there will most likely be less for 45, 46 is a definite though.
Wish I could go.
Is anyone springing for a hotel?
I am going to i46 with tons of mates, see some facepunchers there I suppose.
I wish I lived in the UK for this. But eh, atleast Sweden got DreamHack.
Wish I could make it to this one but purely just can't afford it currently unless someone wants to kill my travel costs. Be nice to go to one which isn't in the summer so maybe in the future.
I always wanted to go to these things, too bad I live in US
Consider me attending, but not yet paid. I'll try my best, but it's going to be a damn long way to get to it. If I do come, it'll probably be my last hurrah for the iSeries events (I prefer my smaller ones).
Ask wizzo if you can get a lift in the lorry from Southampton!
Ask wizzo if you can get a lift in the lorry from Southampton!
Oh god, you just reminded me. Wizzo started "playing roulette" with power switches as he called it at the end of i44, he turned off all the power switches but somehow the lights to the LAN tree were still on. What followed was immediate remarks about the magic of christmas etc :v:
Ahahahah. Good old Wizzo. I heard about the LAN tree, it was Henners. I would have crafted a sapper out of some cardboard and sneakily placed it on his tree, as he has done to my dispenser at two separate LAN events now.

The iSeries has been the one of the best times of my life, it's just a shame I really can't afford it anymore! Hopefully in a year i'll be able to get back on track!
What did they do...
Well, basically when they started throwing the empty boxes out into the crowd, one of the boxes reappeared at the side of the stage, the presenter guy ran up to it and hit it. He then proceeded to open the top to reveal henners and push the box down his body, trapping his arms and leaving him to walk away looking ashamed. :v: [editline]26th November 2011[/editline] http://www.fileplay.net/channels/iseries/i44/14844/i44-opening-ceremony 30:50 is where it starts. :v:
My first event after turning 18, can't wait!
My first event after turning 18, can't wait!
Will be the same for me :v:
My 6th.
I'm tempted to fly out there, a plane ticket to London is only like 50€, maybe if I have enough saved and can spare the money I'll come along. My only concern is how do I safely get my PC from here on Crete to England without some jackass luggage attendant from throwing it about.
I'm tempted to fly out there, a plane ticket to London is only like 50€, maybe if I have enough saved and can spare the money I'll come along.
I'd look more into flying into Manchester, it's closer overall than London.
I'd look more into flying into Manchester, it's closer overall than London.
I'll have to see if Easyjet flies into Manchester from Chania, so far I've only seen London.

I just might have to do the third option if I decide to come. As for my monitor I could probably wrap it in bubblewrap and stick it in one of my suitcases and surround it with my clothes. And if it comes down to it I'll also buy the insurance for my luggage.
