I also read in the comments that a poster says female hyenas have 6x the testerone levels of a male hyena. I did a quick Google search on that, but there's an article here that says that says that [URL="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/11161886/"]female hyenas have signicantly lower testerone levels than predispersal and postdispersal males[/URL], so I'm actually a bit confused.
It's probably because this article is outdated, so this claim would probably not hold as much water now than it did before.

its not like evolution always proceeds in the best fashion. its a diceroll more than anything else, and its only through the brutality of natural selection that anything happens with those dicerolls. It makes me wonder how it happened, but I doubt we'll ever really fucking know for sure.
