I don't fully understand what vaporwave is and after looking it up I have even less of a clue
Vapourwave art and music is one of the oddest things to emerge from the internet in a long time. I like it.

Kind of reminds me of the stuff Pertubator/Power Glove/Lasershark did ("80s" Cyberpunk/Grindhouse electronica) but instead moving into the 90s and with a stronger Japanese/Jazz influence and greater focus on the video/packaging?

nah, the serious vaporwave people are the people that put out albums. the ironic vaporwave people are the ones that are popping up on soundcloud.

yeh, some on there though all though personally I do prefer future funk. There are some awesome songs out there.

Kinda surreal to see this here. A couple months ago I paid about 3 dollars to see him play in a small room in this old torn down building. As good as it gets.

a lot of that sounds like straight up nu-disco / french house (the slower and more sample based kinds)
