My Bloody Valentine are a shoegazing band from Ireland that formed in '84. If you don't know what it is, Shoegaze is a sub-genre of alternative which focuses on heavy distortion and guitar noise. Despite the name (named after a horror film) the music they play is actually pretty soft and beautiful mostly. They only have two albums out but they're both very good. They are "Isn't Anything" (1988), and "Loveless" (1991), which is probably one of my favourite albums of all time.

I put off listening to them so much though, since I mistook them for Bullet For My Valentine. :saddowns:
Everyone seems to mistake them for that band even though they play completely different styles of music.
