We've had the announcement already, now we have the actual date:
The CW's summer slate officially kicks off on Tuesday, July 16 with two all-new half hour shows, including the return of the hit improv comedy series "Whose Line is it Anyway?" and the new dating competition "Perfect Score". Premiere night will feature back-to-back original episodes of "Whose Line is it Anyway?" (8:00-9:00p.m. ET) and "Perfect Score" (9:00-10:00p.m. ET). Starting the next Tuesday, original episodes of "Whose Line" will air from 8:00-8:30p.m. ET (with encores at 8:30p.m.), and "Perfect Score" original telecasts will air at 9:00-9:30p.m. ET (with encores at 9:30p.m. ET). Hosted by comedian Aisha Tyler, "Whose Line" will also feature the return of cast members Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie, who along with a special guest each episode, must put their comedic skills to the test through a series of spontaneous improv games, prompted only by random ideas supplied by the studio audience. Based on the wildly successful U.K. format, which also spawned a previous incarnation in the US that ran for eight seasons on ABC, "Whose Line is it Anyway?" is executive produced by Dan Patterson, Mark Leveson, Jimmy Mulville, Ryan Stiles and Wayne Brady. Co-created by Dan Patterson and Mark Leveson, the show arrives from Angst Productions and Hat Trick Productions.
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/tvnews.php?id=102256 I hope it doesn't suck. Don't really care for the choice of host, but I guess we'll find out soon enough. rip Drew Carey
I like that it's a new guest each episode instead of a series of episodes featuring the same guest. I agree with you on the choice of host, but it's not like she can really do anything to the show, it's still the same old cast that we love. I'm really excited for this.
Hey, that's my birthday. Never was much a fan of whose line, it was hit or miss for me with a heavy emphasis on miss. i'll still be giving this one a try.
Please don't be any different
Maybe Drew will be a guest on an episode?
Maybe Drew will be a guest on an episode?
maybe the april fools is he's actually still hosting
maybe the april fools is he's actually still hosting
I'm sure he is too busy hosting The Price is Right and is probably tired of his past revivals of "Whose Line" failing.
drew :(
Aisha Tyler is probably going to be better than Drew Carey.
I have always wondered why shows like this died out in the US while they are stronger than ever in the UK.
I want this to be a good thing so bad, I'm cautiously optimistic at this point.
I'm ready to laugh my butt off.
Fat Drew is funnier than skinny Drew anyways. Regardless, I'll still miss him.
The host kinda does matter, The constant jokes on drew also added to the show.
The host kinda does matter, The constant jokes on drew also added to the show.
I kinda preferred Clive Anderson. He was hilariously awkward, which made an interesting straight man dynamic. Plus he never involved himself in the scenes, at all, which I never liked about Drew since I thought he was very bad at improv. Then again, Drew was great at sarcasm.
I have always wondered why shows like this died out in the US while they are stronger than ever in the UK.
American TV is horrible because American's have no taste. TV industry is starting to slowly drop their standards in quality due to mainstream audiences being fine with shit television and 60% advertising. They are fine with that too, as long as they are making money. There really isn't that much good T.V anymore ever. There are a few good shows yes but most of it is shit. Call me a cynical asshole but I am starting to get fed up with shit, you know this is true with every entertainment industry nowadays. Here's hoping Whose Line is amazing as it was before and that it's not cancelled due to mainstream audiences not liking it.
After hearing an interview with her I can say she is not unfunny.
I don't know what to think of the new host, I am glad however that they are returning to the original format. Maybe this will inspire me to finish my Whose Line map for gmod...
YESSS !!!!!!!
Aisha Tyler is probably going to be better than Drew Carey.
No one will replace Drew in my heart
Aisha Tyler is probably going to be better than Drew Carey.
Shes not funny... Drew Carey was fun because he was funny every so often, but more times than not, it was fun to watch the cast take shots at him.

Plenty of great shows on TV right now, both comedy and drama. Avoid TBS like the plague, stick to FX and AMC (or HBO if you can afford such a thing), and you'll be fine. EDIT: Comedy Central has great stuff too. Second edit: And all those cartoons everybody loves, those too. Yeah I have no idea what you're talking about actually. TV is pretty awesome.
Please bring back Drew. And bring back Fat Drew as well, He looks so different now.
Aisha Tyler? What the fuck? Some TV shows work because of who's on them. UK Top Gear wouldn't work without Clarkson Hammond or May, though May wasn't an original presenter. Who's Line will be hard pressed to work without Drew. Hopefully Colin and Ryan appear regularly
Aisha Tyler is probably going to be better than Drew Carey.
No one could possibly be a better host of Whose Line than Drew Carey. You can't possibly top how good he worked with the guys on the old show. Eat it Clive.
Going to the live taping of the show on the 20th, so damn excited.
Hopefully Colin and Ryan appear regularly
Uh read the OP. Colin, Ryan, and Wayne are in every episode. it's the fourth member that changes.
