This is coming from two sources, since Sony gave away the logo and a scene from the film at CinemaCon yesterday. [t]http://i.imgur.com/RIAc8J8.jpg[/t]
The purchase of multiple website domains had tipped us off last week regarding what the title might be for the upcoming Spider-Man reboot, but Sony Pictures officially announced Spider-Man Homecoming tonight during its big presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas! In addition to the official title card for the 2017 standalone movie which you can see above, the presentation also had star Tom Holland make a brief appearance just hours after attending the red carpet premiere of Captain America: Civil War, in which he will debut. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony presented a clip from that upcoming Marvel Studios threequel which had Tony Stark meeting Peter Parker at his Aunt May’s house.
Comicbookmovie.com And from an interview from Collider:
During the press day for Captain America: Civil War, Collider’s own Haleigh Foutch posed this question to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who revealed the details of Marvel’s involvement in the Spider-Man reboot:
“We’re working very much [together]. It is a— I don’t know exactly what the credits will be, but it is a Sony Pictures production of a Marvel Studios film. The agreement was that it is very much a Sony Pictures movie. Amy Pascal is co-producing it with us and [Sony Chairman] Tom Rothman is leading the charge for Sony and that we are the creative producers. We are the ones hiring the actor, introducing him in this film, and then working right now on the script and soon to be shooting the actual Spidey film.”
Feige said the focus right now is on Civil War and the standalone Spider-Man picture, so plans aren’t yet in motion for further sequels in the new Spider-Man franchise, but he did say that Marvel’s deal with Sony does not specifically denote who can and cannot crossover between the franchises. Feige recently said that MCU characters will likely pop up in the Spider-Man film, but there are no contractual specifics as to which ones are allowed to weave between the films.
So effectively, it's going to be a Marvel based movie, Sony is just providing the money, not Disney.
I'd really rather some lesser known superhero characters get films, as opposed to more fuckin Spiderman
the early 2000's Spierdman will always be my favorite but I hope this isn't a origin story ( maybe a quick recap at the start of the show ) but have it he haves been taken on bad guys for awhile
So effectively, it's going to be a Marvel based movie, Sony is just providing the money, not Disney.
Sony owns the rights to Spiderman IIRC, so it's not a surprise to me.
I'd really rather some lesser known superhero characters get films, as opposed to more fuckin Spiderman
I guess it depends how obscure we're talking about, but Captain Marvel, Inhumans and Black Panther are getting movies.
At this rate we'll get to see uncle ben die as much as Batman's parents
the early 2000's Spierdman will always be my favorite but I hope this isn't a origin story ( maybe a quick recap at the start of the show ) but have it he haves been taken on bad guys for awhile
I'm pretty sure they already announced they wouldn't do an origin story. If anything they might do it like Tim Burton's Batman with a super quick flashback buried in the middle somewhere
At this rate we'll get to see uncle ben die as much as Batman's parents
Supposedly it's not going to be another origin story.
I'm holding out hope for a three-hour spin-off anthology film about Uncle Ben dying, showing it from many different angles and possibly with various different casts and directors.
I'd really rather some lesser known superhero characters get films, as opposed to more fuckin Spiderman
I would say Guardians, Inhumans, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Black Panther and Ant Man are unknown characters to any non-comic fans. Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage too. I think they're doing okay with the lesser known characters. [editline]13th April 2016[/editline]
Supposedly it's not going to be another origin story.
There's no supposedly about it. Spidey is in Civil War with super powers and full costume. Homecoming is a continuation after events of Civil War, not a flashback. The heads of Marvel came out and basically said "Spider-man already has his powers and has been swinging around New York during Phase 1 and 2"
the early 2000's Spierdman will always be my favorite but I hope this isn't a origin story ( maybe a quick recap at the start of the show ) but have it he haves been taken on bad guys for awhile
He'll have a proper introduction to the MCU in two weeks, so no origin story this time.
that logo seems like such a throwback at the 60's
I wonder if they're going for a more colorful, comedic movie this time.
I'm happy about this. I used to read Ultimate Spider-Man as a kid and my favourite parts were always when Spider-Man teamed up with other Marvel heroes, or interacted with Fury and SHIELD, this new franchise allows Marvel to do that. Also Norman Osbourne in the MCU.
that logo seems like such a throwback at the 60's
spidey's suit in civil war has a 60's vibe too
Weren't there already 4 or 5 spiderman movies though?
Weren't there already 4 or 5 spiderman movies though?
as far as this Universe is concern they never happened
Weren't there already 4 or 5 spiderman movies though?
It's a reboot of a series that already rebooted once before. I would say Spiderman is the Superman of Marvel comic adaptations but Captain America and the Fantastic Four are way ahead of him in the race for that title.

Are you talking about the movies, because I've only heard of the current Chris Evans captain.
Captain America? Are you talking about the movies, because I've only heard of the current Chris Evans captain.
There was a TV movie in 1979 and a feature film in 1990. Knock yourself out

I hope they finally do Spiderman justice.
Damn it feels good to be a comic book fan right about now. [editline]13th April 2016[/editline] Also i heard the fuckin Vulture will be in this movie. The Vulture is the shit.
More like a turd franchise Seriously just fucking give up on it while you're ahead. Give someone else the spotlight for a fucking change
that logo seems like such a throwback at the 60's
Asshole Spiderman spin-off based on the Internet meme?
So it's not going to be an origin story. We're also getting a Peter Parker that is still in High School and not graduating or an adult. Spiderman's first appearance will be in Civil War. With early reviews saying that [sp] He threatens to steal the show, and is the best spiderman yet. [/sp] Honestly from what I've read/heard about Holland's Spider-man, if Marvel does have creative control they can't really mess this up. Also there was an interview that kind of hinted at how we get the origin story, so I'm just piecing it together but it seems to happen something like this: [sp] Iron man meets Peter in his bedroom to invite him to join The Avengers, or atleast his side. Parker then says a couple lines about his origins and that is it. It's for Iron Man to hear and feel, not to catch the audience up. [/sp]
More like a turd franchise Seriously just fucking give up on it while you're ahead. Give someone else the spotlight for a fucking change
A lot of the characters in recent marvel movies are obscure to a mainstream audience. Not a lot of people even liked Iron Man before he got his movie.
If this movie doesn't include either Mysterio or Carnage I'm going to flip a shit.
If this movie doesn't include either Mysterio or Carnage I'm going to flip a shit.
A Venom that doesn't suck shit would be nice
I'm kind of nervous about this considering Tom Rothman's involvement. Keep in mind that it was Rothman who briefly lost Bryan Singer to WB and was responsible for almost not letting Deadpool see the light of day, plus having his mouth sewed shut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
More like a turd franchise Seriously just fucking give up on it while you're ahead. Give someone else the spotlight for a fucking change
What do you mean give someone else a chance? They're making shit tons of marvel movies, there's doctor strange, the inhumans, black panther, and captain marvel all lined up, as well as sequels to the avengers set of hereos and gardians of the galaxy. It's not like they're just going to make spider-man and only spider-man from now on.
