What do you mean by "API for steam chat"?
If you mean something like possibility to create a bot for chat, then there is [URL="http://steamcommunity.com/id/Fennecs/"]something[/URL] already done with existing Steam API.

What the hell? I've known it's possible to make it look like you're playing it, but it always just closes as soon as I open it. And it seemed to do the same with my friends.
